Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!!

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will be taken to the Mutli-Racial Community Centre in Watford on Sunday 16th July 2006 for a Diwan (Sikh Religious Programme) organised by renegade individuals.

Over the last 2 months members of the UK Sikh Community have been in discussion with the Sikh Sangat of MRCC committe who hold monthly diwans in a Community Centre Hall in Watford.

These talks have been successful to the point where the majority of this Committee have agreed that the local Watford Gurdwara is where Diwans must be held and it is a sacrilegious to take Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to this Centre where meat and alcohol is served and consumed.

A faction of the Sikh Sangat at MRCC committee is adamant that the diwans will carry on in the hall. They refuse to work towards having the diwan at Watford Gurdwara for the blatant reason they the want to be on the Gurdwara Committee in roles such as President and General Secretary.

As per Sikh Rehit Maryada, It is blasphemous to take Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to premises where meat and alcohol is served and consumed. In addition, these few individuals wish to manipulate Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the local Watford Sangat out of pride and personal ambitions.

These renegade individuals must be stopped from abusing Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for personal gain.

We humbly request the Worldwide Sikh Sangat to contact:

The Centre Manager

The Mutli-Racial Community Centre

70 Durban Road West

Telephone: 01923 220136 (office hours 9am to 1pm GMT – 24hr Answerphone)

Email: mrcc70@hotmail.com

Inform them that Sikh Sangat at MRCC committee will no longer hold diwans at MRCC, however a few individuals, who have broken away from this committee, are not willing to accept this decision. They will be acting against the wishes of the wider Sikh Community of Watford if they bring Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to MRCC this Sunday.

Please remember you are representing the Khalsa Panth and refrain from bad language or confrontation discussion. Our aim is to inform the Multi-Cultural Community Centre that they must not support these few renegades, who do not have backing from the wider Sikh Community of UK.

With the blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Sikh Sangat will work together to resolve this situation.

Gurfateh!!

How low can people get!!! The word committee member is dirty and the word renegade committee member is even worse!! I think we all can guess what kind of people these lot are who will take Guruji to the Hall.

Need to break the pride of these people!!! Guruji is not a tool to get one up on the next man!!!

Please put the pressure on the Banqueting Hall to stop this!! I have just left a voicemail for the centre manager.

These people live off of jealosy, and want an ego from being a member so they feel special. What dumb@$$es.

Sorry to be blunt, but whats with the Sikh sangat of UK? Beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib is an everyday thing now over there. UK Sikhs are the first ones to talk about how people dont follow Sikhi in India and Punjab but are the last ones to prevent beadbi of their Guru in their own communities! Dont make this into a huge post complaining about the people who do such beadbi, go over there and stop it for god sake!

True say veer ji, we can write extensive postings about committees and beadbi, but actions speak louder than words!

If we can't prevent the beadbi from happening than we shoud peacefully protest outside the community centre on Sunday. Watford is off the M1/M25.

This is an unfair statement to post simply as it is not the fault of the sangat. It is the fault of those manmat thinking people who only work for money.

IF you read the posts and pay attention to UK beadbi you would know there is a campaign which is preventing such occurances. There might be a few things this year but considering i think it was around 14 weddings were stopped last year? This year that has been less then 5 i think? All of which were stopped.

It is unfortunate that there is a problem in the UK, but it doesnt mean the sangat are not doing anything about it. Its only visible on the forums where alot of people talk about doing stuff, but when there is protest, only the same handful of people turn up.

You might think they are the last, actually they are the first. If im not mistaken, im sure it was UK singhs who got the hukhmnama outlining Maharaj is not allowed to be taken to halls etc and its UK singhs who bought back the sandesh from Akaal Takht too.

Please use the below template for your email:

Dear Sir or Madam

I an emailing about an issue that is very distressing for the UK Sikh Community.

This Sunday, 16th July 2006, a Sikh Religious gathering has been organised to take place at the MRCC where the Sikh Religious Scriptures, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, will be brought onto your premises. Sikhs revere Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the embodiment of God and therefore prescribe to a number of Religious edicts than must be adhered.

A prime edict is that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji cannot be taken into environments and premises that are used for parties and other celebrations, because alcohol, meat & tobacco is served and consumed on such premises.

Therefore it is deeply sacrilegious to bring Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to the MRCC or any other such establishment.

I understand that is Sikh Religious Programme has been previously organised by Sikh Sangat at MRCC but after discussion with them they have also agreed that this Programme cannot carry on at MRCC. However a small group of Individuals are still adamant that this programme will take place on 16th July 2006. These individuals do not have the support from the local Watford & Wider UK Sikh Community and are only continuing with this programme because of personal pride.

Please support the UK Sikh Community by not allowing these individuals to bring Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to MRCC this Sunday. As your will understand this is a very concerning and distressing issue for Sikhs and your support will be fully appreciated.

Thank you for your help. I hope to hear from you soon for a quick response and effective resolve.

Regards
