If you believe in Guru Gobind Singh Ji/Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and the KHALSA PANTH they created in 1699.. then goto any amrit sanchaar recognizable in sikhi terms and not against sikhi principles. (ie. taksal/akj/nanaksar .. and NOT naamdhari/nirankari etx..)

..but if you think you think MUST need something from a specific jatha.. then go for that one .. but let me beg of you for one thing..

please do NOT degrade any other group like the one who posted before me did towards another group within sikhi..

just my two cents..

"hi i want to make sure i take amrit"

you cannot take amrit. amrit takes you

"from a place"

amrit is not given from a place or group it is taken from sri guru gobind singh maharaj

"that fits me"

you cannot make amrit accomodate you, either an amrit sanchar is performed according to gurmat and puratan rehat, or it is not performed according to gurmat and puratan rehat. there is no picking and choosing which amrit sanchar you like the look of most. either an amrit sanchar is gurmat or it isnt.

Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!

Just to clear a few things up.

Keski as a Kakaar Rehit is given by Guru Jot Panj Piare.

Naam Drir is given by Guru Jot Panj Piare.

Wear a Keski regardless of whether you beieve Kes or Keski as a Kakaar.

Amritvela is a must for everyone. There's no fixed time/limit, and most do Amritvela between the hours of 12am and 6am. Gurbani has all the answers, so search for references if required.

I suggest you go to an Amrit Sanchar which is conducted according to Rehit Maryada, published by the SGPC. If you understand what Naam Drir is, (if not, talk to Gursikhs, and they should explain to you) and if you feel it is a necessity for your journey towards Akaal Purkh, then go to an Amrit Sanchar conducted by Akhand Kirtani Jatha.

Just remember, whichever Amrit Sanchar(s) you end up at, it’s down to Karam and Bhana of Satguru.

i might take amrit. just need an answer to a few questions.

When taking amrit they put amrit on top of your head right?

so if i have bunga/keski on. will i need to take it off?? and my bunga is secure and covers my head.

what happens if i need to pesh, speak to panj piaare? do i speak to them seperatly? or infront of everybody else? how does pesh work. will i be called out???

do i have to register my name etc before an amrit sanchaar?

Please don't shop around for the Rehat or Amrit that suits you. If you are ready to take Amrit, then attend the next Amrit Sanchar that you know of and ask for the gift of Amrit

The Punj Pyaray will give you the Gurmantar regardless. If you believe that nam dhir is important to you then take amrit from the jatha that does this. Don't be in 2 minds after taking amrit and then get para that you have taken amrit from the wrong people. The Akal Purakh selects the Punj Pyaray, not a jatha or samparday. Guru Ji's jyot will exist in the Punj no matter which group they are part of.

Just make sure you stay clear of the dehdhari groups like the naamdharis, nirankaris, radhoaomis etc.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
