Concept of Justice

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Recently, during a rather fruitful discussion with a Muslim, the subject of 'Justice' came up in the conversation. I wanted to outline some points discussed which proved Islam is not as clear cut as Muslims have us believe.

Me: If a child was infected with AIDS or cancer from birth, how is this justice by Allah when the child has not committed any sin? (Muslims believe each person's account opens at puberty (age 14ish) and before this he/she is not judged).

Muslim: Allah is ALL-Just so his justice is absolute. The child is carrying the sins of the parents.

Me: Why should a child carry the sins of his/her parent? Why aren't the parents punished?

Muslim: The parents will be punished in the hereafter, which is what counts. The sensations in this world are no comparison to the sensations in Jannat. The child who suffers 'patiently' will be from one of the ones in Paradise without question or judgement if he/she dies before puberty.

Me: This seems like a weird concept. What if the parents repent for their sins, will the child be miraculously not affected by the disease?

Muslim: That is not definate.

Me: What if the parents repent, and the child still endures suffering for 'their sins'?

Muslim: Then, the parents will get more than what they deserve in Hell. They will have to answer for their sins in the hereafter, the child will be from one of the ones of Paradise.

Me: Ok, let's take 2 situations. Child A who is infected with an incurable, suffering disease from birth and dies before pub

erty, and Child B who has no disease, but also dies before puberty. Do both of these children go to Paradise?

Muslim: Yes.

Me: Then where is the justice? If both are destined for Jannat, why does one need to suffer? Wouldn't it be easier for the parents to be judged, rather than a transfer of sins?

Muslim: Allah has placed nature in PERFECT BALANCE. Disruption of this balance causes suffering to those who intefere. Also, Allah is ALL-JUST therefore we do not question his justice.

Me: You once questioned me about reincarnation. I answered, and I didn't brush it off by saying the Gurbani says Vaheguru is ALL-JUST so we cannot question anything. What you are doing is taking the easy way out.

Muslim: You have to understand, this life is temporary, the eternal life is what counts.

Me: Try telling that to a mother who's child has AIDS and sees it suffering day in day out, and try consoling the child undergoing the suffering.

The semitic religions cannot explain scenarios such as the one you outlined. Only a belief in Karma and reincarnation can explain them.

The problem is that Muslims want an answer to every little question they can think up about Sikhi and other religions but when they get asked anything they cannot answer then their reply is 'allah knows best' !.

Pyare jio, quite a few religions believe that humans started from an adam and eve concept. Science has already proved this is impossible. The genes of the children would clash, and it is not possible for everyone to come from one being, and where did they themselves come from. That also seems like the chikcken and egg scenario.

There was a generation of Egyptian rulers, sorry I have forgotten their names. To ensure absolute control, this generation, made a rule that their children can only inter-marry, i.e. son marries his sister or mother or daughter. This continued for 2 generations. By the time of the third generation, the children started to be born deformed. But still they continued the practice. Eventually the dynasty destroyed itself, as its children all were born deformed. It was due to some genetic clash.

Many religions, such as Christianity, Islam, Jehovah witness, who believe in this concept of everyone coming from adam and Eve. This is not possible. Genetically it would not have worked.

Thats true.

A prime example of this would be the royal family where royals only marry royals hence they marry with cousins, etc. You hear a lot about problems with children in the royal family having disorders etc. on the news. If the adam and eve theory was true then i guess that according to the genral trend in the quality of human beings (in terms of physique, health, etc,) through generations where couples are related would suggest that we as humans are in the worst state.

but that don't make sense :@ @

hahahahaha :@

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
