I know magic so on are not allowed in Sikhi, so how come Guru Nanak Dev Ji made Blood come out from one roti and Milk from the other, theys also a few other story. I am not calling this magic.

i don't think you should compare your rabit out of the hat to when Guru Nanak Dev Ji made Blood come out from one roti and Milk from the other (he did that to prove a point, and he didn't learn "magic" from a book of another person)

I am not trying to compare but I just wanted to know difference between both were. I ask so I can learn more about Sikhi, if some one does not ask how are you going to learn some thing.

I just want to know what this would be called, and how is it different from magic.

Magic is performed for Entertainment.

What Guru Nanak dev ji did was done to show the Truth. Whether you actually believe it that it did happen, does not matter. The message is far more important. Malik Bhago needed to see what kind of person he was and Guru ji showed him.

Where Faith and Love Exists ANYTHING is Possible.

In Yoga there are Sidhees that you obtain thru great Tupps and Jupps which allow you to perform some Magical things. Can these be Obtained, yes, but they will take you further away from the Truth. It becomes very Hard to Controll the Ego in this state of mind where Magical things can be performed. Thru yoga one can learn how to breath thru his eye, yes thru his eyes it is possible, there are far more thing that are possible.

I don't expect you to believe me, that is fine. But not everything can be explained by Science and Science in not the Final word on what is possible and what isn't by the power of Mind.

In Spirituality, Yoga is Far Far Ahead of Science, and it has been for the past 5000 years.

In Yoga you can learn things about your body that cannot be explained by science. In the Himalyas Monks have learned thru meditation how to controll the temperature of the Body. They can live in below freezing degree weather with just one piece of cloth. Is that Magic, maybe to some it is, but for other its a Reality

there needs to be a line drawn between riddhean siddhan and black magic.riddhean siddhean are powers gained thru loads of paath and agursikh lifestyle.and believe me LOADS of singhs have got them......but by using them r even talking about them ur spiritual level goes down alot ..

riddhean siddhean are never meant to be used for self benefit.even guru nanak stopped the stone at panja sahib to prvent it crushing mardana......but as guru gobind singh said sikhs dont perform cheap tricks to wow crouds or save themselves...many people (eg bhai randhir singh) used RS involintarily......

the question abt guruji (that aint magic) guruji was only trying to show the truth.. of why we should do sachi kemayii.. guruji did not use any black magic... we should remember that our guru's were messenger of waheguru.. so that was a way waheguru was sending his message that we should learn to live an honest life...

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
