Maybe it's just me being silly but what does the word KURBANI mean?

Is it just GURBANI but spelt like the way they (my parents) pronounce Amritsar (Ambarsaar)??

when the words are written in gurmukhi, u will see the difference, they are 2 seperate words with 2 seperate meanings.

Gurbani = words of the Guru

Kurbani = pretty much means sacrifice

Akhar is Gurbani is so important, one slip in pronounciation will change the meaning. They are two different words with seperate meanings!

I get why you are confused, when i learnt of the word (kurbani) i didnt know it was a different one either

In Sukhmani Sahib and commonly before Aardas we say "Nanak Daas Sada Kurbanee" (This is Gurbani from Satguru Granth Sahib Jee) which means "Guru Nanak Dev Ji is always a sacrifice."

Gurbani is Guru Sahib's Baani - words of our Guru Sahibaan

Kurbani means sacrifice.

Also, after muslims do there animal killing rituals at eid, they call it "kurbani" ie sacrifice.
