Is it ok 2 wear black colored Kacheraa? Or is it essential 2 b wite or any other lite color?

They have to be white.

Why?

Just as the Hazooriya can only be white, kirpan and Karra can only be of Sarbloh, Kangha can only be of wood, same way kachherra can only be white. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh in his autobiography has explained it very well. In those days all Singhs used to approve of only White Kachherra.

The Kacherra was given in order to control lust. It should be white because white is very difficult to keep clean, necessitating vigorous self discipline. Guru Ji wants his sikhs to be extra vigilant and in everything else too such as wasking kesh, body everyday, combing kesh daily, tying the keski twice daily. Guru Ji wants discipline in a sikh. It was one of the three pillars of sikhi; naam, daan and ishnaan.
