Guru Guru Waheguru Guru Raam Daas Guru
sikhs have been given gurmantr which is waheguru and is the highest and best mantr to recite

The 'Guru Guru Waheguru Guru Raam Daas Guru' is a track sung by Bibi Snatam Kaur in one of her albums..

What if someone saying 'Guru Guru Waheguru Guru Raam Daas Guru' is saying it with more love that someone 'blindly' saying Waheguru, if we know what Guru Raam Daas Ji was practically the essence of Akaal Purakh Himself? We say Waheguru, but is it not possible for someone to live the life of a Sikh whilst reciting Raam/Har with devotion so that they also merge with Akaal Purakh?

Sorry for going off topic - I'm just not sure why you brought it up baba. Please enlighten me :| thank you.

read bhai gurdaas jee's vara to get answer to that question.

bhai gurdaas jee has made it crystal 'waheguru gurmantr hai, jup, hoaumai khoee'

sikhi has 2 mantr's gurmantr and mool mantr. personally, i dont agree with anyone who says something else is "equally powerful" but hey watever floats your boat :TH:

Thanks for the vaar baba. The shabads below are just a few examples where Gurbani seems to tell us explicitly about the powers of Akaal Purakh's 'Name', using the example of Raam. So I thought maybe there was no difference between meditating Raam Raam, meditating Waheguru Waheguru and other things.

I don't want to argue - perhaps we will agree to disagree on this one.

as per taksaal, god's name is waheguru.

lol that quote above itself can be seen depending on interpretation 2

a) Taksaal? What about Gurbani? I thought Gurbani was highest

b) God's name.. Not really, as you yourself said: Bhai Gurdas made it clear.. Wah + Guru ..ie: Wow to the bringer of light to darkness of ignorance. It's like saying your name is "wow-friend".

The Name doesn't matter. Gurmantar and "God's name" are different things. One is a mantar the other is something useless that people argue about

Some say Raam, Some say Allah

^^^By the way try interpreting that peice in a different way tongue.gif
