Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

im really disturbed to hear all this seperation in sikhi. Its not only castes like jaat anymore, its everywhere. First we divide ourselves by majha, malwa, and doaba. Arent we all sikhs? Arent we all born at anandpur? Is anandpur not our pind?

As for castes, if we look in bani, theres more than enough proof to show castes are stupid. How is one man by work proffession higher than another man? Most of the so called"jaats" have never even done farming. And as for jathas, if someone asks u what religion are u, wat u gonna say? Akj, taksali, ananksari, what? Guru je made nothing, he made khalsa panth. I belive he did make damdami taksal, but it is a place to learn gurbani and gatka. It is not a sect of the khalsa panth. Akj in the beggining was not a jatha, it was a group of chardi kala singhs who went around and did kirtan. A nihang was a name for someone who was a ful time soldier of the khalsa, had no other job. Didint we all drink the same khanda ke pahul? Fine, there are some differences, like rag mala and mool mantar and kaakars, but, all sants got along. Sant gurbachan singh je khalsa bhindranwale, the 12th mukhi of damdami taksal, was very good freinds of bhia randheer singh je, the person who started the akhand keertan jatha( a keertasn group, nothing else). Sant je beat up his nepehew for goin to a raag mala debate and saying it is bani. Why? Cause if we divide ourselves, and fight between ourselves, how are we going to fight our oppresors. Be like those sant, who got along, even though they didnt agree on everything. Let the whole panth khalsa come under one nishan sahib, not nishan sahib of taksal, not nisha

n sahib of akj, but nishan sahib of Khalsa Panth. We all drink from the same baata for a reason. Let us all unite under one nishan sahib of the khalsa panth, become gurmukhs, and stop all this stupid, useless fighting between each other.

Gurfateh,

I agree 100000% with you veer ji!

Where I live, there are VERY few sikhs (barely 10 families), and so when I try to meet Sikhs from other places, I am usually disappointed in what I see. I have met Sikhs who refuse to talk to anyone who hasn't taken Amrit, and, on the flip side, I have met Sikhs who refuse to talk to anyone who has even kept their hair. The unfortunate part is that while we are fighting, we are also losing the war.

In case you're wondering "what war?" we must come to terms with the fact that we are always under attack from India. India spends MILLIONS of dollars trying to ruin the Khalsa image and kill Sikhs, and when they see Sikhs fighting other Sikhs, they are overjoyed. This is what the Indian government wants--Sikhs killing each other; it makes their job a helluva lot easier. As long as we are divided, Sikhs will continue to cut their hair and leave the path of the Guru (as can be seen in Punjab today), but as soon as we unite and realize that we are losing the war to stay alive against India, there is NO ONE who can stop us.

This is actually paraphrased from the speech of my good friend Sardar Navtej Singh Ji (Cleveland). He gave this speech at a youth samagam in Pittsburgh, and it will be online shortly on keertan.org...when it is, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

In any case, we need to forget about our castes, unite, and find our calling. Each person needs to decide how they want to contribute to Sikhi, whether it be writing a movie with a Sikh character or teaching your local community about Sikhi or writing a book about Operation Blue Star or SOMETHING...We have plenty of role models who have done

AMAZING things for the panth (i.e. Sikh Coalition, SMART, SikhToons, etc.). Forget about your "Jatt Pride," your "AKJ pride," and your "Ramgharia pride" and replace it with "Sikh pride." I know personally I have made it my goal to unite the 3 or 4 states in my area (Ohio, PA, West Virginia, etc) and its Sikh population, and recently we made a group called AKAAL (American Kirtan Alliance for Aspiring Leaders) and we hold samagams in different cities in the area every 2 months. After looking at this board for a while, a good example is Vicky Singh--look at all the websites he has made for the Sikh panth...what a great seva...

This is just my 2 cents...but I'm sick of seeing Sikhs fight between each other for STUPID reasons when we agree on 95% of the details...Let's not let 5% difference get us killed by India

By the way, something else I forgot that irritates me the most...

While talking to someone recently, the topic of amrit came up, and this person proceeded to tell me that only AKJ amrit was real amrit. He said that people who take amrit from anyone except AKJ is not a Sikh and these type of people are what hurt Sikhi...now after hearing this, I began to think, what's next? Are we gonna have caste-based Amrit? I can picture it now: "No, you can't do kirtan...you're Amrit is Khatri-Amrit, not Jatt-Amrit"

::Shudders::

Amrit is Amrit! Don't discrimate against your own people!

Guest balwinderkaur

yeah thats a fabulous post khalistanee veerjee. unity will happen when the new generation takes over.... hmmm what new generation are u referring to mr singh jee??? kids born in 2000s, 2010s and 2020s?????? or those born during those trying years of 1980s-1990s????? if we keep on procrastinating like that, its not gonna happen.... we should stand up and unite as a team NOW instead of just saying ah unity will happen when the next generation takes over. also didnt it occur that the new generation will learn from the old...and somehow imbibe their ideas of division, jaat paat etc. (although most youths hate it.....there are some who still follow this closely and take soooo much pride in their: I AM MAJHA IM GREAT I AM DOABIA I AM BETTER I AM MALWA IM DA BEST....U ARE NON JATT YOU ARE WORTHLESS YOU ARE CHOORHA YOU ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH) instead of taking pride in their, im citizen of anandpur sahib with a glorious past and im gonna make an even more glorious future. hmm im not making sense here.... better stop mumbling all this garbage.. sorry. ;)

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
