PS3 has a graphics processor in it that can support HDMI, whereas the 360 upscales using some software patches, which produces 1080p, but not quite as good as the PS3's.

The XBOX360 Elite I would say just about matches the ps3...Maybe not for its power or speed,

but for its money. I may sound like some cheap skate but I have played both consoles and I really can't

see why the ps3 is place 200 pounds higher than the XBOX360 Elite.

With games Like

-Gears of War

-Halo 3

- Forza Motorsport

- Tiberium Wars.

- Medal of Honor: Airborne Exclusive Multiplayer Hands-On (Also on ps3 but better online, on 360)

And also its online play I woulden't say ps3 is worth getting.

Obviously if you got the money to spend on it then go for it but with the games itself costing 50 pound I would go

for the cheaper option and spend more money on the games for the 360.

Ps3 is going to stay for long time, but you will get a new Xbox very soon. it will level the prices.

Ps3 is very strong machine, only hardware guys can really understand it. It is very very powerfull. and after a year when game developers will learn to use it , you are surely gonna see the difference. Atleast its very powerfull and a good investment.
