In India I carry a twelve bore shotgun , Automatic Kalashnikov, as many shastars as I can physically carry, in England my kirpan if over three inches can get me thrown in jail,

I’m free in England and a slave in India……..ye rite! LOL.gif

DW, one cannot measure one's freedom by the size or amount of weapons one carries. This duznt make sense.

One aspect of freedom which we have in England is the freedom to experession. Now in the UK there are many nations who wish to have more power for themselves ie the Scots and the Welsh. If the Govt started to kill Scots and Welsh people in false encounters then you may justify your claim. However this is never going to happen.

None of these communites live in fear from govt or police. none of these people have their lives at risk. None of these communities carry weapons ak's 12 bores etc.

In india this happened so many times that communities seeking more power have been crushed ie sikhs kashmiris, nagas, mirozamis etc. all want more power but have to suffer the consequences of being "free".

So what if some of them, like yourself carry weapons. They havent the power to say what they feel.

Also i want to tell you of something that Sant Jarnail Singh said " if you keep a weapon and do misdeeds that is a big sin, however if you keep a weapon and allow zulm to occur then thats an even bigger sin."

So you may have many weapons but whats the use of them if you never fight zulm. You may as well keep a tin-opener in your kamrkasa, it will be just as effective.

You can stand in a street in Panjab or in a court of law for that matter and shout Khalistan and I’m a Khalistani your free to say that, you couldn’t stand in the streets of England and claim to be an IRA or Al-Qaeda member you go to prison to join the elderly people they lock up for not paying their council tax.

DW i am beginning to think that you dont actually live in india. There is absolutely no way anyone can stand on the street of panjab and say LOng LIve Khalistan, The police would arrest him/her and charge them with sedition. The word Khalistan is banned in India , I thought you would have known that. Even that great multi-cultural icon APache Indian had to remove the word Khalistan from ones of his records before it was allowed to be released in india. Why have Mann and Bittu , and also lt Jagjit Singh Chauhan been arrested over this many times?

and why have Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness , both leaders of the IRA been invited to Downing st many times?

sorry , but your statement is an absolute lie. and I would like you to prove it. Video it and put it on youtube or summat, and I'll apologise if you are right. However if you end up in court charged with sedition, then i will help in any way i can .

Sat Sri Akal,

Just one more difference, Just it would be great if use Sikh instead of Punjabi.

There is nothing Great in being Punjabi alone but being a GurSikh makes you great.

It is just a request.

Nowdays most people want to be called Punjabi then being Sikh, i am not really getting it.

Regards

Chatanga you are a constant source of amusement rolleyes.gif

Where did Jagjit Singh Chauhan the president of the Republic of Khalistan spend the remainder of his years? Botswana? I think you’ll find it was Punjab India.

Why would I end up in court charged with sedition? I don’t support Khalistani or Hindustani ideology, again you have demonstrated the fact you haven’t a clue to which you know what you are talking about.

Oh’ and before I forget, the youtube evidence you asked for, about three odd days old..

Enjoy

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
