Cut Hairs ?

I am not saying whether we should cut our hairs or not. I personally keep my hairs myself.

I just wanted to correct the rom rom bit, rom rom is each cell in your body not your hair.

You're right the hair grows from the cell but if we shave we just shave the hair, the actual rom (cell is still there) and this is what causes our hair to re-grow.

Talk about pseudo-science.

Perfect -Student, Dandaut to your charan.

I'm sorry, but Baba Ji's got it wrong on this - by your reasoning, the expression 'roma di beadbee' is meaningless. The word Rom has Sanskrit roots and can mean 'pore' OR 'hair'. Look it up in a dictionary.

I applaud the fact that you're not taking everything from baba ji at face value, and making the effort to search for yourself. Don't be tempted by spiritual quick-fixes and ridhya-sidhiya- anything worth having takes time and effort to achieve, be patient, keep up the simran and you will get to where you want to go.

The fact is, we keep our Kesh and the other Kakkars because Guru Ji asked us to. It's a requirement to join Maharaj Ji's army, which is as relevant today as it was in 1699. The problem is that many Singhs have forgotten that one of the main pillars of Sikhi is Simran and that internal kirya is as important as external, if not more so. Personally I keep Guru's Kesh as a reminder of my brothers Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh and the countless other Singhs who gave their lives for my (and your) sake.

There are well known Gursikhs who gave up their Rehat when they began following Narinder Grewal, who now goes by the name Dassan Dass and is the baba i refer to above. Their excuse was that Bana is maya. Ofcourse it is, that why Maharaj Ji said 'Gurmukh Maya Vich Udasi'. By theway, sareer, clothes, food, houses, kids, family are all maya - Did they leave those as well?

rom rom mehi basehi muraar ||and on each and every hair, the Lord abides

the translation is wrong. Rom Rom means each cell in your body where lord abides. When we meditate with Rom rom, it means our entire body, each and every cell is meditating with us. This is very high spiritual stage, the entire body is filled with naam and this is what guru nanak dev ji maharaj was on about when he said in gurbani "those who meditate on god with BODY and MIND, i am over and over an sacrifice to them".

now fight and defend your beliefs.

truth will stay as the truth.

dust of your feet

Bhai ji you've answered your question yourself. Let us presume you are right, and that rom refers to cells. Are hairs not originating from cells? In fact cells are smaller than hairs! If God is in cells, and hairs arise from cells, then what difference does it make? When people say "romaan di beadbi", does that mean we are removing our cells? So rom has to refer to the smallest hairs on the body. Rom is also known as "rongtey" in Hindi and that for sure refers to the smallest hairs on the body.

And by the way, no one is fighting here. I don't know you, and so I don't know if you are keshdhari or not (which is none of my concern by the way). If you don't want to grow your hair, no one is going to force you Bhai ji. Its your life, your choice, and no one on this forum has any right to judge you as only Dharam Raj does that job.

And yes, truth will remain the truth

rom rom mehi basehi muraar

bhul chukk maaf

with regards

dandauth bandhana to your charan matheen ji

I have full kesh and beard myself, it keeps my parents happy so let it be. It doesnt bother me whether i have kesh/daari or not because i dont want to impress no girl or look good physically. I want to become good from inside so We should really be concentrating on how to overcome the panj doots, desires and ahankaar. We should really be concentrating naam simran and seva. Rest will happen by itself.
