Is this a AKJ samaagam?

Vahiguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vahiguru Ji Ki Fateh

This smagam is for ALL Shaheeds but mainly it is the Barsi for Shaheed Sukdev Singh Babbar and Shaheed Bhai Dilavar Singh Babbar,

Please can individuals resist the temptation in posting whether it's an AKJ, Babbar, or any other Jathebandi smagam. Sangat should attend any Shaheed Samaagam regardless of which Jathebandi is organising.

As stated in an earlier post, there is no such thing as rankings in relation to Shaheed. The same applies to all Jathebandi.

It’s been a very long time since a Shaheed smagam was arranged. Please do not ‘knock it’. Lets us all unite to remember those Singhs and Singhin who made the ultimate sacrifice…..Their life!

Pull Chuk marf……….

"Remember Shaheed singhs parwara (Families) are still out there, most of them begging and even selling there bodies to survive. Outside Harmandhar sahib you will get bibia begging, and guess what most of them are from a shaheed singh family. What a Sharam di gal, if we cant show our support in these smagams then sorry to say we will never get raaj, nor Khalistan. "

i seen a email on the akj egroup about 6 top kirtani being called ?? how much they costing ??? why not give their ticket money to the shaeedi parvars ??? a smagam like this could be arranged with local kirtani... singing kirtan together and remembering them is one thing (a great thing) but to waste money where it is needed is another.... a lot of smagams nowadays are truly forgetting the reality of what smagams are about, including sanjah smagama, akj smagams, etc... to much emphasis on top kirtanee and not enough emphasis on Gurbani kirtan....

Please DO NOT attempt to turn this into a debate!

The telephone numbers of the sevadars are located on the poster. Any discussions on the morals or even enhancements should be taken up with them. Please also resist the temptation from posting how individual Jathebandi’s are arranging samgum’s.

Yes I agree that it is a sorry state of affairs when money is paid for the hire of kirtanee, but again please take this up privately with those sevadars concerned.

It is easy to sit back and criticise and hard to do Seva.

Ek Onkar Satnam

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I have no doubts that this smagam will be a success, but my question wasnt answered, will there be a collection for the shaheed singh/singhiyas families? how will this smagam be helping them financially.

Gurfateh Ji

"i have no name"

Sorry bhai sahib for not answering your question.

Yes who ever wants to make an donation to the shaheed parwara please contact Jethadar Bhai Raghbir Singh AKJ! His number is on the poster.

Great way to give daswand and most people here have given daswand to shaheed singhs for over 20 years so please the sevadars have done a lot of seva.

Is this an AKJ smagam, very beautifully said 'who cares what jatha bandi is organising it, its a service to the panth not no jathabandi. But for people who are stuck in this thinking, yes AKJ organizers are also helping out in the smagam, such as the jethadar Bhai Raghbir singh and Bhai sahib Balbir Singh.

Keertanis from all over the world are attending, again the sevadars have put a lot of effort to make this smagam a success. Again the sevadars have been doing service for the panth for over 20 years so please do not put down the sevadars.

Waheguroo ji ka khalsa, waheguroo ji ki fateh

Chill buddy, go have some lassi, it was just a question.

Here whenever there's a AKJ samaagam everyone comes out, no matter what maryada they follow. You could've said "Yes, akj sevadars are part of it as well." instead of all the extra baggage to go along with it. And no-one's putting down the sevadaars they just have questions, and we should all be sensible enough to answer those questions with pyaar.

Bhul chuk muaf.

    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
    • The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West. The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public. Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
    • The printer is C J Amritsar… They have given a mobile number for India …
