Had you read my full statement,

youd know they are not MY queries,

they are questions which i am repetatively asked.

Which means you've given them repetitive thought. So, who better than you, to share thoughts about what they think the answers are.

Lets hear your thoughts on the questions, then we can go from there.

Typical Khalistani's - anybody who raises valid questions is termed a communist etc.

The truth is the Khalistani's have no answers to the question.

Around half of Punjab is non- Sikh, and of the 50% of those that are Sikhs are non - Amritdhari.

So Khalistan will be majority non- Amritdhari.

Khalistani's do not even know the territory of the so called Khalistan.

Some want it to extend to the sea.

So the minority of Amritdharis will become a miniscule in the new Khalistan.

I suggest the Khalistanis congregate themeselves in a few villages and become a majority and proclaim Khalistan.

The fact of the matter is the Khalistanis have no answers to the:

demographics, political institutions, geographical entity; the electoral process;

Bacially it will be the minority ruling the majority- enforcing their own views etc.

There will be no democracy as the Khalistanis will be kicked out at the 1st election - as they will be the minority.

Some deluded souls proclaim the Sarbat Khalsa proclaimed this or that.

So what has happened and who cares?

We will all leave this world in the end, Khalistan or no Khalistan.

This is all a drama and a temporary phoenomena.

We will all go in the end - nothing will accompany us except the Name of God.

Another thing - who cares if the Sarbat Khalsa pronounced declared something in 1986.

Sarbat Khalsa don't represent me or the majority of the Panjabi population.

Do they represent the Panjabi Hindus?

Do they represent the Panjabi Muslims?

Do they represent the non-amritdhari Sikhs?

So who are they to declare Khalistan?

They just represent a minority of views and should be ignored as they have been all these years.

1) Where will it be?

2) What will be it's official language? (Panjabi will isolate ALL non-Panjabi Sikhs)

It should be the present Punjab as well as Sikh majority areas in the neighbouring states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Basically the present Punjab and about another 10-15% extra land.

Since Punjabi is the language language of about 80% of the population of Punjab as well as the Sikh majority areas of the neighbouring states then naturally Punjabi would be its official language. With the globalisation of business then English should be the 2nd official language.

Why would having Punjabi isolate non-Punjabi Sikhs?

3) What are your policies?

4) Can non-Sikhs live there (if not welcome to UN Charter breach land)

Being a democratic country then the policies would be dictated by whichever party is in power

No Khalistani leader is ever on record stating that non-Sikhs would be forced to leave Khalistan. In fact the population exchange questions have been posed by people like Indira Gandhi and Khushwant Singh. Unable to understand that the world has changed since 1947, they assume that just because a new nation is formed then it means that a population exchange has to take place. In a Khalistan based around question 1, about 85% of the Sikh population of India would be in Khalistan already. If other Sikhs want to move there then there is nothing wrong in that but a forcible exchange of population is an Indian idea not a Khalistani one. If a population exchange is forced upon Khalistan then the Punjabi Hindus could leave Khalistan and the Sikhs from other parts of India could move to Khalistan.

5) How will non-Sikhs be treated? (I'm thinking Pakistani treatment of resident Hindus and Sikhs here)

Wherever Sikhs have had sovereign power, such as during Misl times, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Sikh states upto 1947, there has been no widespread discrimination against non-Sikhs. So why would there be discrimination against non-Sikhs now? If when discrimination was the order of the day even in Europe and the Sikhs did not discriminate then why would Sikhs take a backward step when the world has struggled to reach the level of Sikhs in non-discrimination? As with all things there is never a guarantee but the non-Sikhs should look to the way Sikhs have been magnamous when they enjoyed power. They also know that when the rest of India is still in the dark ages when it comes to rioting at the drop of a hat, Sikhs in Punjab did not massacre Punjabi Hindus in 1984 when the rest of India was massacring Sikhs.

6) How will your laws work? Will you mix Politics and Religion?

It depends on how the constitution is written. Religion based states have not worked, but this is because the religion on which these states have been based have discimination built into them for all people who do not belong to that religion. Saudi Arabia is a case in point where discrimination against non-Muslims is based on Islamic belief. As the Sikh religion is not based on any discrimination against non-Sikhs then there is reason why Khalistan should go the same way as Iran, Saudi Arabia or Taliban run Afghanistan.

7) Army? (Be prepared for a Pakistani invasion)

People who ask these sorts of questions don't live in the real world. The import of the question seems to be that Sikhs in India have been protected from Pakistan because they live in India. The facts are that the rest of the Indians have been protected by the Sikhs for the last 60 years! If you read any of the Pakistani generals memoirs they always point out that the Sikh soldiers were the ones they were scared off the most. Punjab has already faced two major wars on its soil since 1947 and the Sikhs and the Punjab economy has always recovered. It’s not easy of a country like Pakistan to invade Punjab especially given the role of organisations like UN, EU and other international bodies. Pakistan would face sanctions straight away and the rest of the world (apart from the Islamic world) would support Khalistan. See also question 8.

8) Trade Partners and Raw Materials?

Punjab has an agricultural economy and the state has been purposefully kept non-industrial based on the false premise that being a border state it should not be industrialised. Khalistan would have the advantage of around 2 million overseas Sikhs who if the govt of Khalistan creates the right conditions, would invest heavily there. Being freed from having to seek approval for even minor projects from the paranoid Indian government, Khalistan could move towards becoming a modern economy. After the creation of Khalistan, it is highly likely that other states in India would attempt to break away. States like Assam, Nagaland, and Kashmir already have active secessionist movements so it might lead to India breaking up. Successful break away states would create more pressure on the Indian government to move towards a more federal structure or risk a USSR style break up. If this happens in India then it is possible that something similar would happen in Pakistan as well since it too has liberation movements in Sind and Baluchistan. So we could see a number of different states emerge in South Asia which would have none of the paranoia that dictated the relations between India and Pakistan.

9) Economy based on....?

Although bereft of most raw materials Punjab has something which most nations would be proud to possess, the Punjabi work ethic. Whenever conditions have been adverse Punjabis always strive to move forward. The economy would be similar to western states as the socialist style economy India followed for the first 40 years was a massive failure.

10) Opposition parties would be?

11) Strict adherence to the Guru Granth Sahib would insist on no caste so would power stay with Jatts or filter down to Tharkans?

Under a democratic system there can be any number of opposition parties.

Has a similar question been asked of India, where Brahmins who are less than 2% of the population control 15% of all the positions of power in India? In a democracy the state is run according to the wishes of the majority. The constitution would have to include provisions against discrimination but in the political sphere unless you have set quotas based on caste you cannot force people to vote for a particular caste as MPs.

12) Any non-Sikh refugees from this Khalistan, would they be granted safe passage? Who guarantees this? (I'm thinking '47 here people)

See answer 4. Population exchange is a non starter and something which the world community would oppose. No Khalistani leader has said that a population exchange is a must for Khalistan.
