sikhs dont treat others like brothers and sisters no more. they judge by appearance like NF's judge by colour.

This is true but certain conservative sections of the community are more guilty of this than others...you know who you are........lol

My interpretation of Sikhi is that it is a revolutionary philosophical creed that seeks to attain political equality and level playing field for all of humanity; however this does not in my eyes equate to a socialist/liberal agenda.

Rather the fundamental Sikhi tenants of self control, self sufficiency, charity, honest endevour and religious puralism; point towards a philosophy free from the corruption of state apparatus and one that emphasises enterprise and resourcefulness.

IMHO Sikhs prosper best in open, democratic societies that are unencumbered by a welfare state (e.g. USA). The American constitution could of have been written by Sikhs. Hence in conclusion, i think Sikhs are small 'c' conservation revolutionaries (oxymoronic, i know!!).

the Guru's openly supported various political contenders, I'm sure not everything they did was in line with Gurbani.
Please explain.

Well, what I meant was that various (sometimes potential) political leaders had cordial relationships with our Gurus. Guru Arjan had good relations with Akhbar and Khusrau (the latter was one of the key reasons for his execution). Guru Hargobind seems to have patched things up with Jahangir. Guru Gobind apparently sent some troops to support Bahadur Shah (who earlier didn't attack attack the Guru when he was chastising the hill rajahs under Moghul orders). In other words the Gurus gave some support to the emperors or other important officials (read politicians) and my point was that these people themselves weren't Sikh and probably did many things Sikhs would find unacceptable in another Sikh (i.e. harems, drug taking, drinking). But that didn't stop the Gurus from supporting liberal candidates i.e. those who allowed religious freedoms and did not pursue an Islamification agenda. Get it?
