Khanda Earrings!

Went down Southall Broadway (UK) for a stroll, and I walked past this jewellery shop. It was selling earrings in the shape of Khandey. I know people must have seen this before, but I was really annoyed, so much beadbee. Just wanted to let off steam @

Trust me the sangat has tried to stop this..but it doesn't work. The people that sell this stuff do not think they are doing anything wrong..that's where the problem lies!

Well, this is wrong cuz piercing of body is not allowed in Sikhism or its wrong cuz khanda should not be used for earing but other shapes are OK?

well a lot of those guys that wear khanda chains also wear earrings. i think that's just as wrong as these earrings. piercings are stupid and dont even look good at all. one of my aunts wore a koka one time and her nephew pulled it so hard that it ripped the skin open. yuck

I understand the issue of body piercing for earing.But whats wrong in havin Khanda pendant or chains? is it aginst Sikhism? I am just asking, cuz I dont see the logic behind it.

i dont think anything's really wrong with it but a lot of times the people that wear those chains represent it as a punjabi culture thing that doesnt mean anything sikhism. they act like gangsters and change the meaning of the symbol..

i totally agree with u over this.It look so weird on cut hair guys and they wear umm just to show off.These symbols if wore should be respected. They look great on turbans on galz and turbans of Singhs with full untied beards.I love the FULL khalsa roop with all the sashtars and all the Sikh symbols. :nihungsmile: :e:
