In Gurbani at many places there is a mention of Akath Katha[ it would mean the story untold/unstated]. What is this and what is the meaning of this.Kindly have a look at the following line. I have colored the line under question. Regards.

mwrU mhlw 5 ] (1002-3)

Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

bwhir FUFn qy CUit pry guir Gr hI mwih idKwieAw Qw ] (1002-3, mwrU, mÚ 5)

I have quit searching outside; the Guru has shown me that God is within the home of my own heart.

AnBau Acrj rUpu pRB pyiKAw myrw mnu Coif n kqhU jwieAw Qw ]1] (1002-3, mwrU, mÚ 5)

I have seen God, fearless, of wondrous beauty; my mind shall never leave Him to go anywhere else. ||1||

I have found the jewel; I have found the Perfect Lord.

moil Amolu n pwieAw jweI kir ikrpw gurU idvwieAw Qw ]1] rhwau ] (1002-5, mwrU, mÚ 5)

The invaluable value cannot be obtained; in His Mercy, the Guru bestows it. ||1||Pause||

Aidstu Agocru pwrbRhmu imil swDU AkQu kQwieAw Qw ] (1002-5, mwrU, mÚ 5)

The Supreme Lord God is imperceptible and unfathomable; meeting the Holy Saint, I speak the Unspoken Speech.

Anhd sbdu dsm duAwir vijE qh AMimRq nwmu cuAwieAw Qw ]2] (1002-6, mwrU, mÚ 5)

The unstruck sound current of the Shabad vibrates and resounds in the Tenth Gate; the Ambrosial Naam trickles down there. ||2||

qoit nwhI min iqRsnw bUJI AKut BMfwr smwieAw Qw ] (1002-7, mwrU, mÚ 5)

I lack nothing; the thirsty desires of my mind are satisfied. The inexhaustible treasure has entered into my being.

besoft there are many types of katha i will address briefly, there is drist maan katha (katha that tells us our history). Then once the seeker wants to meet god he must learn the akath katha, this is katha of our internal selves, akatha katha answers such questions as where are we from, what was here before us, how was our bodies made, how do we pass this trigun maya/bhav sagar how do we goto chautha paad and meet god. First guru nanak dev ji started this akatha katha, then guru angad dev ji, then guru amar daas ji and guru amar daas ji trained 22 sants to go spread this parchar (suno santo katho akath kahni) finally guru arjan dev ji made it hukum from sikh to satguru to do this akath katha so every1 cud get out the bhav sagar. The other kathas are prem kahni, amar katha and gooj katha (these kathas happen when u goto chautha paad and happen thru anhad). All the akatha katha is what gurbani teaches us, just sukhmani sahib alone tells us how to transcend the 5 elements and go and meet god.

Akath Katha is Gurbani in Sri Guru Granth sahib ji.

As Gurbani is Nirankar :

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥

guramukh baanee breham hai sabadh milaavaa hoe ||

The Word of the Gurmukh is God Himself. Through the Shabad, we merge in Him.

Ang 39

ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਨੀ ॥

akathh kathhaa anmrith prabh baanee ||

The Ambrosial Bani of God's Word is the Unspoken Speech.

Thank you Munjoth ji for nice explanation Of Akath Katha and also advising me that it can be heard only if one is in Fourth state of spirituality. My appreciation is not like yours.I am grasping the concept. What is the meaning of 5 elements.

Dissect the word:

Akath. Remove A, (its a mukta), and you get, Kath, which means describable. Negation of this word is un-describable.

So, akath katha = katha of the one that cannot be described

It is correct. That is which is not stated or cannot be stated. It was the question. What is Akath Katha.Which is that Katha which cannot be said/stated?

As per the discussion it is been established that it is Gurbani.Do you mean to say that Gurbani falls in that category and it cannot be stated/said/uttered.It does not make much sense unless there is some other meaning assigned to it.

kindly explain
