Sat Sri Akal:

There is still an open challenge to ANYONE out there who can provide even a inkling of a reson for eating with tables and chairs.

So far, the stupidest of reasons were given in support of tables and chairs. Truth be told, the people who do this are 1) on the GOI payrole or 2) too darned scared to live as Sikhs. Why do they do this? So they don't look "different". They want to look as much as possible as a church and not like Sikhs.

See that is the problem with people. They forget they will die. Then, these people suddenly see Dharam Raaj with a smile on its face and a 10 foot Kharag (aka Khanda) all warmed up with their name on it!!!!

is there an exception for those who are physically challenged to sit on the lfoor? like people with seriously bad joint problems. Not that they can't sit on the floor, but that it would cause alot of pain to sit on the floor. Those with extreme weight issues. Are certain people under certain circumstances be allowed to sit on chairs at tables, or just on chairs with their thaaliyaan in their laps? cuz i know of a few bibiji's who's knees are totally failed, and they COULD sit on the ground, but the pain they experience is incredible when trying to get up.

i am totally in agreement that there should be NO tables and chairs for the masses, but are there special circumstances?

japanese style is pretty cool too where its really low and u still sit on the floor but anyway sitting on the floor is the best because it feels nicer to have the open space around and seeing the sangat around u. it's much easier to varta langar this way as well. i think it was wrong to fight over this though but it was a really good idea to make a new gurdwara. Its nide to see that the simplest gurdwara in surrey, desmesh darbar, is the one people like the most

that reminds me of that simpsons episode where they make the church all fancy like a theme park. yea that toon may have been offensive and there are a lot more christian jokes in shows like family guy and the simpsons. i find that they make a point though. This one just expresses the view of someone in vancouver that saw the news about this fight that happened. it may be wrong but it shouldnt be ignored because this is the way most youth view religion nowadays
