Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

The topic title says the all and the list is as below (please feel free to add if you think I have missed something):

1. Always greet each other with Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji Ki Fateh; be it on the phone, in person.

2. Always recite Mool Mantra together on arising in the morning, followed by Ardaas for thanking Maharaaj for a new day and asking for blessings to take full Ishnaan (inc. kesh whenever and wherever possible) and do Naam Simran.

3. Recite Simran together for at least 1 hour, the next hour can be personal Simran if desired.

4. Attend Gurdwara Sahib for Simran, morning/evening Nitnem if possible.

5. Recite Nitnem together, alternate tuks or do each Bani in turn.

6. Encourage the reciting of more Baani.

7. Respect each other’s privacy, remember you may be married but that doesn’t mean you take things for granted.

8. Inspire each other with daily Sakhis from Sikh Itthiaas.

9. Take time to share a Shabad from Gurbani and do its Vichaar.

10. Go Gurdwara Sahib daily and try to go to Different Gurdwaras if possible, this will help you think that you are not a part of any particular cast based Gurdwaras, but you have Piyaar for your Guru Ji.

11. Try and do active seva together where possible do not deter your partner from going to Gurdwara or joining in Gurmat projects.

12. Hold regular Sangat Kirtans at your place of residence for friends and family.

13. Organise a Langar at least once a year, do invite family, friends but also try to raise awareness through local homeless shelters etc.

14. Try to par take in physical activities together, pick a sport you both enjoy.

15. Encourage one another to recite, listen, learn more Gurbani in spare time, don’t waste it idly watching tv, films, generally lazying about.

16. Join local groups that help the community in which you live - helps raise awareness about Sikhs.

17. Remember your partner is a soul from God; help them to make it Home again - to merge with our true Love.

18. Always speak Punjabi at home and with friends, relatives and at Gurdwara Sahib.

19. Teach your kids Punjabi at home and tell them stories based on Sikhi and Sikhs.

20. Help each other with household duties seeing as it is now common for both partners to go out to work, this one is particularly for the men, find out where the iron is and where the Hoover lives!!!

i know many ppls are making fun of the last point... but really it is important in today's life.

A woman works same hours as man, so why not man sharing household work with woman....!!! its not fair for the woman to work 8-9 hours job and then spend another 3-4 hours in kitchen whilst the husband sitting in room hooked to football.... tut tut tut....
