Sorry guys newbie here. Mods: feel free to move this to the appropriate place.

QUESTION:

Now this might be answered in a very short sharp way but I ahve been looking for the answer to this question for agessss.

Q: Do Sikhs believe in Adam and Eve?

Simple really. If we are all children of God then how did we get here? It would make sense that our roots are with Adam and Eve. And if so, why did Waheguru Ji take so long to spread His word? Why not start straight away.

Bul chuk maff :blush21:

my answer = NO :)

our roots are with vaheguroo only. everythings done by hukham.... vaheguroos hukham. its hard to explain what im trying to say. im not saying im against adam and eve-- i just dont care, just dont get too into who came first etc. whats important is what we have TODAY..... and thats sikhi which started by GURU NANAK DEV JEE :)

i dont know why vaheguroo jee took so long spreading his true message, but that just makes us think how lucky we are : )

sorry if i havent answered properly.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Adam and eve are abrahamic mythological characters. Some christians say there was a woman before eve named lilith Adam asked her to lay under him and she said no we are equal but he said God said lay under me and she refused again and was cast out of "paradise" and God then created eve "from adams rib". They say he made lilith the supposed "devil" before people personified satan as a red man with horns and a goutee. They say lilith goes to intice men into Kaam thinking, which makes the men inticed by her to spill seed in their sleep, and they say she is jealous about woman that she touches them with a still born when they fall into evil thinking etc etc. They say the word lulaby(singing a kids song thingy) comes from lilith.((Meaning youll want your kid to fall asleep before lilith intices them, and kills them in their sleep)) Before science figured out sudden infant death syndrom etc etc

Back in the Jewish hayday the scholar rabbis would read about a name in the Torah and when they couldnt tie a story to that persons name then they would either change the name to someone that has a backing story or they would make or remove the name. A.E-- they say the "serpent" in the paradise was really lilith but personified as a snake because ancient serpents had cultural and spiritual meanings with mesopatamia/ancient cultures etc and adding their religious teachings would help people understand the "new and updated spiritual knowledge".

Women are created from mans rib????????? So men are straight created by God but women are made from mans rib(a secondary creation) Did man create the story of eve or did man create the story of God creating adam????? When things contradict then youll get insecure scholars trying to mislead you away from logical thinking (so dont go blasting this information out at abrahamic religions) Just remember Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj has defined the creation as per what to do and what to think. Gurbani shows you over the whole of Gurbani what the key is, you wont be able to have mahant knowledge by skimming through STTM or random paaths. It takes careful observation of Shabads that must be remembered so you can construct your Sikh knowledge through feeling rather than intellect. Sikhs dont need to display others shortcomings to have the true knowledge. We dont need to appear better we just need to know that as a Sikh we are the adam/eve, we are the one that should live a correct life as a Sikh, we dont have a high order of people that makes you only sit and watch the religion, we are supposed to very eagerly participate within daily religious activities, each one teach one each one helps the other. When you read something of another faith that contradicts Sikhi just think how/why Sikhi says otherwise, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj specifically told Sikhs to learn other faiths but keep your mind firm in the belief of Sikh Scriptures, and for this reason.

The Sikh explanation of creation is much more detailed and true than the story of Adam and Eve etc. Satguru has given the process clearly in Akaalee baanee. Satguru first describes what was before creation: "Arbad, narbad dhundoo kaaraa, dharn na gugana hukum apaaraa" pg 1035. This means for countless ages there was utter darkness (nothingness), no heaven or earth. The will of Akaal reigned everywhere. No day no night, no sun, no moon. Only Akaal stayed in solitary meditation.

Then guru jee says "keetaa pasaao eko kavao". With his one word, the universe was created. Then what was the process? On panna 1037-38 Satguru describes that the elements of air and water were evolved along with everything else in the universe. On panna 19, Satguru says "sache te pavanaa bhaiyaa pavne te jal hoi. jal tay tribhavan saajiyaa, ghat ghat jot samoi" from the true on, air (gases) were created and from them was created water. From water arose the three worlds (metaphor or common term for the universe and all within) with his divine light within all bodies.

Satguru continues and says, "kai baar pasario paasaar, sadaa sadaa ik ekankaar" many times has creation been created (the universe been created) only Akaal is forever. This clearly shows that satguru has told us that the universe has been created, destroyed and recreated many times: we are just in one cycle of this creation. And even commenting on other parts of the universe we can't see, Satguru says "kaytay pavan panee baisantar" countless are the airs (atmospheres), waters and fires.

Thus it has been shown Satguru has given Sikhs an understanding of Gurmat that is very scientific and matches the views of contemporary scientists. Very unlike humanity being created out of mud and a human rib.
