greetings

mitr pyare noo haal mureeda da kehna

Tell my beloved friend my health (haal) is like (mureedha)

this is what im guessing the translation to mean, so i dont think mureedha means friend/pupil. .... , i think it means a state of being

like ... mere mitr (dost, friend) nooo mera haal dusna ke (mureeda) vargan hea

does this make sense? this is what im trying to say, forgive me i know it isnt worded the best way

this is why i think mureedha doesnt mean friend/ pupil

anyone have any other views on what mureeda means ?

Regards

Dilrubarb

From Mukhaarbind of Guru Gobind Singh ji; this Shabad was sung by him on the night of the cold Winter when Guru Sahib jio had earlier in the day led the Khalsa forces in the battle of Chamkaur where Guru ji fought with the huge army of enemies of Khalsa Panth. His sons embraced martyrdom in front of his own eyes fighting for Khalsa ideals.Guru Sahib ji in this shabad yearns for remembrance of Waheguru inspite of hardships and tough times.

This is all I could find. Where/how was this composition first found? Is it part of Dasam Granth (which I doubt)? More info on this composition in general...

Thanks in advance...
