refering to the last quote again

O my fascinating Lord, may I NEVER listen to the faithless cynic, singing his songs and tunes, and chanting his useless words. ||1||Pause||

listening to DNB, garage, dubb bass whatever its not going to help you reach Guru ji, it is manmat and a total waste of time, all you are doing is filling your ears with RASS, and all Rass which is not GUrmat is poison for the soul

then all opinions provided on this topic would be chanting useless words and manmat also?

no veerji , we can't compare listenign to Drum and BASS with normal conversation or gurmat veechar.....

we have to liv ein society in a Girst jeevan tha tis correct so we are compeled to converse with people... btu everythign we do or say should be aligned with Gurmat.....

the gurbani tukh posted by veer tarunjeet singh have answered the question posted initially. when the question has been answered by maharaj whats the point in carrying on with childish arguements. cant we listen to guru ji when they tell us something, or maybe people are looking for excuses to do manmat. those who are serious about doing naam kamaaee (not me) will know what is good for them and what isnt.

ps opinions are manmat because its OUR man di mat. but when we use gurbani as veer ji has done then its guru's mat, and know one is in a position to challenge maharaj.

bhul chuk maaf

my dear veerji, what about going to an art gallery, watching fireworks, riding a roller coaster, or even smelling a rose etc. Do those things differ from listening to drum and bass in the context of the point your putting forth?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

Tarunjeet Veer Ji makes a very valid point as to why we shouldn't waste our time listening to anything but Gurbani, but would that also be applicable to other activities that may or may not involve listening to music like those budda singh ji, TubeLight and others have mentioned and other things such as watching television, reading books, playing games etc?

If it's all the same thing we should do nothing but read and listen to Gurbani all day and discuss only Gurbani and Gurmat issues. Even "normal conversation" is obsolete in that case. Of course there are obviously great Gursikhs who do nothing but that, but for moorakhs like me it is very difficult to avoid these things (but perhaps one day with great effort from myself and Guru's kirpa I shall concern myself with nothing but Gurbani).

So it is my lowly opinion (but not a recommendation!) (as a drum and bass fan myself lol) that you may as well listen to what you want.

Bhul chukk maaf karnaa ji

I dont think the kind of music you listen to should be forced on anybody. Speaking strictly about myself, i used to listen to a lot of metal, but ever since ive started doing the daily 5 banis in morning and rehraas sahib at evening i just dont feel like listening to ANY sort of music, ambient is fine but apart from that I find everything just loud, senseless. I am sorry for sounding 'boring' but right now I am loving the Jaap Sahib on repeat on my mp3 player! :D

PS: sorry, didnt realise this post was for amritdharis! :o i know no better please ignore this!

Yes lets all drop out of school cause we are reading kachi bani :o don't read those adverts on public transit either, that is also kachi bani !!! :o Oh and don't listen to people talking either, that is kachi bani too: :o

I am going to stuff my ears with cotton, will only unplug them at gurudwara

I am going close my eyes always, will only open them at gurudwara and even then only when i am reading bani.

That outta be enough to ensure i don't come across any kachi bani, even by accident :D

ur so funny man
