Dear Gursikh Veer and Bhen Jio,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Sikh sangat in many parts of the world is familiar with Bhai Ram Singh (Gurugyan Mission Wale), the renowned kathavachik who uses multi-media to communicate with the sangat in his discourses on Gurmat.

Bhai Sahib is moving forward in launching his own Satellite TV Channel by end of this year. Through this channel, continuous katha of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Kirtan and Simran will be broadcast in modern style.

Moreover, for both youth and children, there are many programmes being planned, including in English, like:

Debates / Seminars / Open Discussion about Family / Relationship matters, anger management, how to manage stress, carrier guidance, personality development, education awareness, health, career and more.

Gurmat quiz, gurbani antakshari competition, gurmat picnic and dialogue sessions.

Learning Punjabi in English, learning tabla and kirtan, turban tying training, cooking course and learning the value of hair.

Gurbani paath with meaning and proper grammar pronunciation.

Our culture (Bhangra, cultural program, gatka) in modern way

Via this TV channel, there is a golden opportunity being given to the Sikh panth. Its our duty now to help in anyway we can to enhance learning about Sikhs and Sikhi through using this visual media.

With the support from naujwans around the world and Sikh Institutions, Bhai Ram Singh Ji's vision is to spread the gurbani principles via Sikhi serials, Sikhi cartoon serials, and Sikh historical films.

Please share with us how you can help in this noble vision?

Your contribution will be Guru's blessings.

I think you need to reconsider the bhangra aspect and make sure you dont contradict Gurbani by broadcasting "manmatt" material.

There is a project here as well (www.thesikhchannel.com) which has similar aims and objectives. Maybe "merging" with that project would be good...?

All in all, its great to see massive projects like these being undertaken and wish you all the best :)

yeh true say but u know, even more mainstream channels (eg. Channel Punjab) are up there for a short period of time and then.. they run out of money, the channel goes off air and the people are left with nothing. I think at this stage where we have no Sikh channels at all, sangat should back one channel with their support and wealth and the more teams we have working on one channel, the better the quality of programming and service that would be delivered to the sangat.
