Yeah I agree with Kizarny, just because someone wears jewelery or makeup does not mean that they are being materialistic.

I'm not sure what your definition of materialistic is bhenji but this is what I found online,

materialistic: a doctrine that the only or the highest values or objectives lie in material well-being and in the furtherance of material progress.

We had a similar gurmat vichar recently with some sangat and we concluded that it comes down to your intention. Your personal intention.

If you wear makeup or jewellry to attract the opposite sex or to seek attention, one might say you are seeking materialistic gains. But if you wear makeup or jewellry because it truly makes you feel closer to guru ji, then why not ?

This issue can be taken deep into our panth. We all do many things for pure attention, while others do them to feel closer to their identity.
