the views of Charles Darwin are completely within the Sikh theses that Waheguru nurtured all life from the start, another way of describing Waheguru's (God's) nurturing is the theory of evolution where all living things adapt to changes in their environment, under the guidance and with help from God. Indeed in our solar years the universe was created billions of years ago, and Sikhs hold faith in the belief that God created the earth in 7 days, made humans special and then threw them out of paradise as the Abrahamic religions believe, instead our Guru, the Guru Granth Sahib teaches that we may never know the exact second that the universe was created, and although it is encouraged to study into it, do not let it stop you from your priority tasks such as helping people and getting closer to Waheguru.

My views are that this is still a theory and so it hasnt been proved, it cant be proved because there is no proof, no one will find proof because it isnt there. That my undestanding of it. Guru Granth Sahib is real and is from God.

When he finds the proof then we might have to look again, until then its all up in the air and so on and so forth.

The chritians dont like him because it all goes against Christian beleifs , that we are monkeys.

dhan guru granth sahib says that everything came from god. guru goes so far as to explain that

From the True Lord came the air (hydrogen and oxygen), and from the air came water (H2O).

From water, He created the three worlds; in each and every heart He has infused His Light.

The Immaculate Lord does not become polluted. Attuned to the Shabad, honor is obtained. ||3||

this is in line with darwins theory/natural selection/evolution/tree of life...

that all life first started from complex chemical molecules; which came from simple (chemical) molecules such as hydrogen/oxygen. guru sahib has not bothered with all these intricate details of how, from water, the three worlds came about, (maybe because guru ji already knew that science would figure it out!- due to it not being that difficult to figure out-).

as jisted by the previous poster, we should not waste time on knowing needless things, but, get closer to god, through, well, any means necessary. through raag/meditation/understanding his life/the origins of life- which will lead us to understand/ get that extra bit closer/more connected with god.. everything should be used as a tool to get to god, as god is the one who has made all the tools! :rolleyes: :lol: :rolleyes:

It has not yet been fully accepted due to the gaps in the fossil's records, but however the study of DNA's are really backing up the theory of evolution.

If i get some time, i will surely post up some good link, so everyone does have a clear understanding of the theory of evolution.

We as sikhs shouldnt bother our selves with this theory, as we have The Wonderful Guru Granth sahib Jii to study.
