The Gallant Defender, a book describing Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale, is now online. Its written by Mr. A.R. Darshi, a Punjabi Hindu, who was ex PCS (is that Punjab Civil Service????) Officer and retired as Joint Secretary Punjab Govt, during his long service in Punjab in the capacity of Indicial Magistrate, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Additional Deputy commissioner and Joint Secretary to Government of Punjab.

Check it out: http://www.bhindranwale.net/sikhismbooks/t...t-defender.html

Lets keep in mind that this book was written by a well-educated and eminent officer who was a non-Sikh, infact a Hindu. The reader will thus have to accept a lot of what he says about Sant Ji. Those who think Sant Ji was responsible for Operation Bluestar, I have made some efforts to skim portions from the book for them to read and then decide who was responsible.

It was not for nothing that Sant Bhindranwale, while addressing the concluding session of the Gurmat Training Camp organised by the A1SSF at the Guru Ram Das Langar Building on 31st December 1983. had predicted that a conspiracy had been hatched (by Longowal and his clique) to level malicious charges against him and then set a stage for the Indian government to send para military forces to enter the Golden Temple Complex. He therefore cautioned the AISSF and other Akali workers to beware of these enemies of the Khalsa Panth.

Earlier he used to say that he was neither in favour nor against the demand for Khalistan but on this occasion he spelt out (hat now it was up to the Indian government to decide whether they wanted to keep the Sikhs with them or out of them. If Khalistan was offered to them they will not refuse. It was a clear warning to the traitors headed by Longowal as well as the Indian government that the day Para Military F'orces were sent to Golden Temple Complex the foundation of Khalistan would be laid.

When. in collusion with the Indian government. Longowal accused Sant Bhindranwale as the Congress Agent in second half of 1983 and simultaneously made an announcement that the Sant would not be permitted to address the audience from Manji Sahib, the Sant shifted his stage to the roof of Guru Ram Dass Langar building not for fear of Longowal but in the interest of unity he had so fondly brought about in the Akali Dal. Ho therefore voluntarily refrained from going to (he Manji Sahib and instead started addressing his audience from the Guru Ram Das Langar building. As a result flow audience at Manji Sahib gradually withered away considerably whereas the Langar building thronged with the enthusiastic Sikh volunteers especially the youths. Thus Longowal. who had made a futile attempt to isolate Sant Bhindranwale. stood himself isolated from the Sikh masses. This situation totally demoralised Longowal.

Seeing the agony being suffered by the Sikhs In-dira Gandhi again pretended to assuage their injured feelings by inviting the Akali leaders for further negotiations. Strangely enough this time Rajiv Gandhi took active part in negotiations. The talks were held at Delhi on 17th & 24th January 1983 but as usual the result was yet another zero. Except these two secret meetings Rajiv Gandhi never participated in any other negotiations. This was very intriguing. Perhaps he had made up his mind that further negotiations with the Akalis would be a futile exercise. He appeared to have opted for military action against the Sikhs led by Bhindranwale.

Colonel B. Longer also played a hideous role in Punjab crisis. He was the man who analysed the overall political fallout if a military attack was launched on the Golden Temple Complex. His conclusion was that military operation would create a political climate in the country in favour of the Congress (I) to win the elections. It was, therefore, he who had turned the military action in favour of the Congress just six months before the elections were due in January 1985.

The Sikhs were projected as communal, extremists, terrorists, separatists and anti national. To disseminate this vicious propaganda against the Sikhs, the Press, All India Radio and TV. were pressed into service. This canard was carried to every nook and corner of the country. The cry of the Sikhs was drowned in the vast sea of this vicious propaganda. Political atmosphere was surcharged to such an extent that the Hindu Opposition Parties vied with one another to denigrate the Sikhs and advocated for taking military action against Sant Bhin-dranw ale and his followers. Atal Bihari Bajpai, President of'BJP. Charan Singh. President of the Lok Dal. leaders of both the Communist Parties, which style themselves as secular but basically they too are communal, and others were strong votaries of taking military action against the militant Sikhs. So much so Harchand Singh Longowal, Balwant Sin.gh Ex-Minister, Surjit Singh Barnala. and some other Akali leaders covertly supported the military action simply to please the Centre and then gain political power, So all Hindu Parties and the Akali traitors among the Sikhs cried with one voice "attack the Golden Temple Complex and teach a lesson to the militant Sikhs

http://www.bhindranwale.net/sikhismbooks/t...r-chapter7.html

The day of attack, 3rd June 1984, which was being observed as martyrdom day of Guru Arjan, was intentionally chosen by Indira Gandhi and her Hindu government mainly for two reasons. Firstly, she wanted to show indignity to the religious heritage of the Sikhs and challenge their faith. Secondly, she wanted to entrap and massacre as many Sikhs as possible, because they had assembled there in large numbers to have a holy dip in the Sarovar and pay obeisance on that memorable day. O.n 3rd June the Sikhs pilgrims gathered in thousands and thronged the Golden Temple Complex. They came to observe Ihe martyrdom day from every nook and corner of India and even from abroad. As such, choosing of this auspicious day by Indira Gandhi to take military action was a monstrous crime against humanity which no civilised nation could have thought of much less to carry it out. However, the government in the White (Lie) Paper published in July 1984 naively tried tojustify the timing of military action-under the protect that Sant Bhindran-wale had instructed his followers to massacre the Hindus on 5th June, To give credence to this white lie Indira Gandhi alleged to have intercepted such a message having been sent by Sant Bhindranwale to the Sikh peasantry. On what date the alleged message was sent by Bhindranwale and when it was intercepted by the government is liil a mystery. If for sake of arguments it is admitted that such an absurd lie was true Indira Gandhi could.have advanced the timing of the savage attack by a few days although even then such an attack could not have been considered justified b\ any reason. This disinformation and lie was spread only to camouflage the monstrous plan of Indira Gandhi and her government.

It is non-the-less crystal clear from the actual fact that Indira Gandhi and her government had intentionally chosen the martyrdom day of Guru Arjun for launching savage military altack on the Golden Temple Complex simply to challenge the Sikhs and their religion and force them-to surrender (hemselves before the Hindus. Whether or not she succeeded in her sinister design to subdue the Sikhs is yet to be evaluated.

It is clear that the attack was pre-planned well in advance.

And the link doesn't work any more.

Lets look at the evidence

Sant jee along with other 'leaders' such as longowal, tohra were leading the Dharam Yudh Morcha from the complex,, an agitation for the implementation of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution. In Sikhi terms it is perfectly acceptable for the panth to lead any sort of struggle from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the wider complex.

The government chose to attack as a first resort, and could have very easily negotiated a different outcome. For instance Harkrishan Singh Surjeet of CPI(M) noted that in a period of 6 months there were 3 agreements (between the Gov't and Sikhs)on the enactment of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution and on all these occasions Indira Ghandi pulled out. This is because she had something else in mind.

SK Sinha (Retired Indian Army General): “The Army Action was not the ‘last resort’ as Prime Minister Indira Gandhi would have us to believe… It had been in her mind for more than 18 months… Shortly after the Akali agitation of 1982, the Army began rehearsals of a commando raid near Chakrata Contonment in the Doon Valley, where a complete replica of the Golden Temple complex had been built… Another training involving Aviation Research Centre Commandos was given in the Sarsawa area and Yamuna bed in helicopters converted into gunships.”

Lt. Gen. SK Sinha, Spokesman, 16th July 1984

“The initial crime was celebrated and indeed had been planned a year before hand.. The army went into Darbar Sahib not to eliminate a political figure or a political movement but to suppress a culture of people, to attack their heart, to strike a blow at their spirit and self confidence.... The army which had suffered a heavy toll in the 3 days of battle went berserk and killed every Sikh man, women and child who could be found inside the temple complex. They were hauled out of the rooms, brought to corridors on the circumference of the temple and with their hands tied behind their backs, were shot in cold blood."

Pettigrew, Joyce. "The Sikhs of the Panjab: Unheard Voices of the State and Guirella Violence" (1995), p. 8.

http://manvirsingh.blogspot.com/

On a side note - any vintage weapons the singhs had were licensed by the government and were allowed into the complex re first hukamnama from Sri Akal Takht by Guru Hargobind Sahib, asking Sikhs to donate and bear arms and Guru Gobind Singhs injunction for Sikhs to be shasterdhari.

This is to counter the ignorant assumption that people sometimes make....ie 'they took guns into a gurdwara.'

The stockpiles of machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades were bought in by the army after the attack, which they then falsely claimed were recovered from the singhs.

Furthermore the fortifications involved using sandbags from december 1983, when the singhs found out that the gov't was planning to attack, something which had been drawn up many months in advance.

On 1st June 1984 during the afternoon Sant jee held a public meeting above one of the buildings (think it was the langar hall). By this time sharpshooters had taken up positions on nearby buildings. If they were really after Sant Jee and the so called extremists (as was claimed by the Gov't and media) then they could have fired at them from this position, instead they fired up to 34 rounds at Sri Hermandir Sahib for no reason. The Gov't clearly wanted to inflict damage on the panth

The above are just some points which counter the bakwas out there

Guest shastr

wat a dumb question.

tell me, why would any sikh any where in the world go to harminder sahib???

the problem with u people who dont understand sant ji is that u guys want to question sant ji, and yet u dont question the government, who stared the problem.

tell me y did the government kill 13 of our singhs in 1978 vaisaki at darbar sahib? y did the government rape our daughters, y did the goverment rape our mothers, y did the government kill our singhs in fake encoutners, y did the government burn copies of sri guru granth sahib ji, y did the government burn bus'es given to the jatha by the sangat, which didnt even belong to any of the jatha singhs, they were used for the purpose of sangat, y did the government burn those? why did the government steal punjab's water? why didnt the government let harminder sahib get a transmeter for kirtan broadcasting? y didnt the governmnet let us put harminder sahib as the name for a train/train station? why didnt the government let us go to the dehli olypics? why didnt the govermnet let the sikhs be called a seperate religion? why did the governmnet say the sikhs are part of the hindu religion? why do the sikhs need approval for a kirpan on a plane but the hindu can wear his dharmic thread from head to toe with no questions asked? why did pandey and party get tickets to assembly after hijacking an airplane but joginder singh singh , museebat singh, and the rest of the singhs who hijacked a plane in favor of guru granth sahib ji, they are shot? why is that? museebat singh gets a piosonous shot in his leg, and his leg is them amputated, why is that? why can a hindu keep 230 grenades at his house, which no licence is ever possible, why a guru ka sikh, who has hukam from his father, who needs no licence from any shalli raam, or gulli raam, who needs no licence from the topi wale, from the bhamans, why does he have to get a licence even if its a 455 revolver? the guru ka sikh, whos father has given him hukam, who can not stay without his shastars for even 1 second, he keeps a shastr and he is called a terriots, but the topi wala, the hindu, the bhaman keeps 230 grenades, and instead of arresting him, he gets his politcal rank increased, before he was pardon of hindu sirakhiya samati of patiala, and after they find 230 grenades at his house, they give him a riase, and make him the hindu sirakhiya samati pardon of all punjab. why is that? a guru a sikh whos father says if u want to get my darshan, u better be shastrdhari, that guru ka sikh is shot even if there is no evidence of illegal weapons found against him, but the topi wala, the son of the bhaman, he gets more polictal power? why is that bro?

do u have an answer for any of these questions????

the answer to all these questions is that the government treated us as second class citizens, and treated us as slaves. and we all know damn right guru gobind singh ji didnt give birth to a slave kaum. guru gobind singh ji didnt give birth to the khalsa so it could be called a second class citizen in that same country where it has spilled more blood then any other race, then any of the class of people.

but one thing guru gobind singh ji did give birth to was sant baba jarnail singh ji khalsa, who woke up the khalsa, who remined us of who we really are, of how our father wanted his khalsa to live.

so if u r a sikh of the guru mr "s", then u dont have to ask the topi wale before going to harminder sahib, u dont have to ask the bhamans before getting darshan of ur maharaj.

during the time of sant ji, the gove. made it so that if u were a sikh, if u had a gatra kirpan, then there woudl be no such thing as an appeal for u in court, there would be no such thing as a vakeel for u defens, there woudl be no such thing as a daleel for ur situations. and if u think about ur father mr "s" then u will know wat he says abou these types of situations, "choon kar azz hama heeltey dar gazashast, halat as burdan beh samsheer dast"

in english, ur father is telling u, hey son, when there is no other way to solve the situation, when there is no one who will listen to ur cry, when there is no appeal, vakeel, or daleel, then there is the sword.

so if ur a sikh of ur father, u dont have to worry about licences, if ur a sikh of ur great grandfather, u dont have to worry about how big ur kirpan can get, u dont have to worry about following the rules, when those who make the rules dont follow them themselves. in these times, our maharaj, guru granth sahib ji says "aapan hathi aapna, aape hi kaaj sawariye"

in hard times, maharaj says singho, u better have shastrs in those hands, those same hands which u used to have the malas, the same hands u do seva with, if those hands are griped around a sword, only then will u be able to stand up and fight for u religion, fight for u rights. in harsh times, maharaj says use ur shastars , and guess wat mr. "s". after the harsh times of 1947 till present day, the indian goverment didnt give us khalastan, but our father, our maharaj, dhan dhan guru gobind singh ji gave the sikh kaum a shastr, a weapon, and that shastr was sant baba jarnail singh ji khalsa

oh, and i too await ur reply :)

Ask the govt why 2 yrs or so before they made a replica of Harmandar Sahib in Dera Doon when SS Bhindranwale was not even inside the complex.SS Bhindranwale stayed their to protect it and as soon as Sikhs got intelligence about an impending attack on Sri Amritsar Sahib they began to fortify it.

Also was SS Bhindranwale in all those other 40+ Gurdwareh across Panjab like Anandpur Sahib?

Was in he all the main cities and villages that were cordoned off?

Was he amongst the mass exodus of villagers shot dead by flying helicopters when going to defend harmandar sahib?

im sorry but it is very simple, the akal takht is the seat for POLITICAL and SPIRITUAL bliss of the khalsa, end of.

When countries are planning their struggles/wars/political legislations etc, where do they meet? the houses of parliament or wherever right? The akal takht is the sikhs equaivalent as well as being spritually inclined.

Understand?

Dear Brothers and Sisters ... that is very deep... thanks for informing me too...

I would like to learn more about Sant ji and bluestar but when you type this in google you get alot of different answers, where is a best place to look????... Also why was the goverment after Santji???

Why did Santji not come out of the Golden Temple knowning that the goverment are there instead of letting them come in... You never know if Santji did go out they may have not come in... and the Golden Temple would not have been damaged...

Thankd for your help in advance....
