Dear all,

the only way we can bring the sikh community together is to eliminagte the caste prejudice that is still prevalent within our community.

We were given the name 'singh' and 'kaur' to abolish caste, but how many times have you heard 'that girl is a tharkan, she is marrying a jat', 'he's marrying a .......... etc etc etc'

We still have the caste system engrained into our beliefs by our elders. The younger generation don't care they marry who they want. Only by eliminating this evil can we start to come together.

The second thing is, we must have undying faith in Sri Guru Granth sahib Ji - all of us. Forget rituals and beliefs,

Help each other out in times of need.

If the Sikhs had an idea they would lose lives, land, homes, Gurdwaras etc. for the creation of Pakistan how many would have chosen a different political path many years before?

The world at the moment is facing up to extremist Islam this is not just affecting the West like 9/11, 7/7 but places like Somalia, Eygpt, Sudan, Nigeria where central governments are trying to get a grip on their countries and stopping a slide in to civil war.

The 20th Century was a battle of democracy over Fascism and Communism, the 21st Century will be a battle between Extreme Islam and the rest of the world!!!

how do we bring the sikh community together, gursikhs and mona

to fight against racism like pakistanis attacks on sikhs in england

or gora attack on sikhs in australia

or fight against drugs

fight against conversions

fight against injustices in punjab

dont generalize bro. whites in australia have treated sikhs far better than the treatment of sikhs in places like uk in mid 80's. you guys had to go through a lot to just tie a dastaar in uk, here we had no major problems like that and i doubt we ever will. but i get the point you are trying to get across.

so how do we get the community together? we get rid of these so called sikh leaders we have in gurudwaras. get rid of them and let the youth control things, a lot more can be achived this way e.g programs can be started that focus on why why monas are cutting there kesh and what is it that has made them to not take the next step in sikhi. youth can focus on tackling problems they face and once you start something like that everyone feels like they are part of the community, which equals a united sikh community.

Ek Guru, Ek Panth united under one Nishan Sahib.

We should fill the ANAKH that we once had. Now we get even slapped by Pakis in streets, big shame. There was a time Pakis didn't dare to even think of a Sardar, let alone slapping him.

1. Train hard (weightlifting and any effective martial art)

2. Do your Nitnem and additional Banis if possible

3. Be aware of whats happening to your community in your city, country, continent and world.

4. Befriend as much Sikhs as possible, and share your views with them.

5. Do parchaar, especially to youngsters.

Others then that, the best thing always is to do Ardaas.
