Amritsar, May 12

In a major breakthrough, the Majitha police today claimed to have foiled an attempt of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) to revive terrorism by apprehending four of its activists during a naka near Beharwal village under Lopoke police station last night. However, four others including a terrorist, managed to flee.

One of the terrorists is a confidant of the Pakistan-based BKI chief Wadhawa Singh whose name figures on the 20 most-wanted list of the Indian Government.

Mr RPS Bajwa, SSP, Majitha, said two pistols, two country-made pistols and seven cartridges, among other bullets, had been seized. Two motor cycles had also been seized.

The BKI activists include Harjant Singh, who had escaped from police custody in February, Baljinder Singh, Jagtar Singh and Gurmail Singh. Those who fled have been identified as Jaswant Singh, Darshan Singh, Nirmal Singh and Balwinder Singh.

Mr Bajwa said during the naka, the police spotted four motor cycles approaching from the Attari side. They were signalled to stop, However, the accused opened fire. The police also retaliated. After half hour, four BKI activists were overpowered while the other four escaped.

The police claimed that during interrogation, they revealed that Sandip Kaur, wife of Dharam Singh Kashtiwal, a slain terrorist of the Babbar Khalsa, who was running a trust for orphans of terrorists at Chheharta, was working as a conduit of the BKI chief.

They alleged that she had been even receiving funds from Wadhawa Singh and some days earlier,

she had arranged the marriage of the sister of a terrorist to Darshan Singh, one of the four militants who escaped last evening.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police shot dead two former Punjab terrorists in an early morning encounter on Thursday. The encounter took place at Wazirabad T-point. The terrorists were later identified as Jagtar Singh Jagga and Parminder Singh Ranga. Both, the police said, were associated with the "Khalistan Commando Force".

The police have recovered two Chinese pistols from them. Pamphlets of the Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from Amwala, Uttar Pradesh, were also found from their car, besides receipts showing a collection of Rs 6,000.

The duo, according to the police, were on their way to abduct a person from a Model Town park. "While gathering intelligence on their movement, we learnt that the two had identified a 'morning walker' for abduction on Thursday morning," said a crime branch officer.

The two were also involved in the abduction of two men from Sonepat this month. They had kidnapped the Jain brothers on March 25 and released them on April 10 after receiving a ransom of Rs 25 lakh. Sunny and Ashu, both aged 20, were released on April 10 after their parents paid Rs 25 lakh as the ransom amount.

They allegedly kidnapped another businessman from Rajasthan in 2002. One of them was released after his family paid Rs 50 lakh. The crime branch received information about Jagtar and Parminder’s movement and laid a trap near the Wazirabad T-point on Thursday morning. Their informer recognized the two in a grey colour Est

eem.

Jagtar shot twice at the police when the latter tried to overtake them. Both attempts failed and the driver of the police car escaped unhurt even as one of the bullets hit the steering wheel.

By the time Jagtar and Parminder got out of the car, the police had surrounded them. "Jagtar was convicted under the Explosives Act. A Punjab court had sentenced him for seven years. After completing his sentence Jagtar was released from jail in 1998," said a police officer.

The police are trying to ascertain their links in Delhi and find out why they used to indulge in abductions. "There can be two reasons. They were either trying to revive the KCF or were collecting money for the candidate whose pamphlets we recovered from their vehicle," said an officer.

its pretty amazing how many times they found a way to use the word 'terrorist' in one article. pretty interesting. i wonder if they feel they got the point across that they want these sikhs to be known as terrorists. these people are sad.

fake or not... the movement is alive again... i believe something will happen this year... the more sikhs hear about these stories, the more fired up they should get to seek revenge and justice for what happened 20 years ago...

EDIT: RAJ KAREGA KHALSA!

If the Congress comes to power, the movement might as well get fired up 10 times more. Not sure but just a thought. Because it will be a disgrace to be under the rule of the same damn people who were responsible for what happened 20 years ago. By the way Congress lost in Punjab although they have nearly won in the center.
