In the past few months I have been hearing about this Jakara movement in southern california, but what are its origins and motivations. I have read their site, but I am not satisfied with the information. Does anybody know anything about the origins and what have you heard about this organization. All your help is sincerely appreciated.

lol thats a lie, definitily a lie, secondly i think your one of those guys whose <Edited> off cause thsi camp actually works and they know how to communicate with sikh youth, jakara camps work and the camps that don't work our the camps were they make ppl do keertan and just path all day and telling kids their not good ppl if their not amrtdhari

and they part of the minority of sikh groups who address gender inequality in are community and focus on empowering girls

only reason i can think of ppl going against jakara is that they call ppl who are not gursikh sikhs and that they inspire youth which makes so called gursikhs feel insecure cause they can't hide like cowards and judge non gursikhs

their's gatka instructors who come from england and run a camp in van, funny thing is the youth love going to these guys camps and they have done a great job of taking any kind of youth and inspiring them through sikhi on reaching their goals, yet ppl have a problem with this camp cause girls will wear shorts or not all the ppl that attend are gursikhs and don't force sikhi down ppl's throat, even though alot of the youth who attend this camp don't know anything about sikhi when go in but when they leave their inspired to learn more and use sikhi to improve their lives and the lives of ppl around them and to set high goals and have the determination to reach them

i don't see why ppl need to attack a group like jakara with lies, if you don't like how they move youth towards sikhi then keep your mouth shut rather then spread dumb lies

when i say being braishwashed into being strict sikhs im talking about the once who are brainwashed into thinking if ppl don't do like them then they have to right to cry and judge others
