Many GurSikhs have issues with the Nanakshahi calendar. It is not necessarily being done at Badal's behest. Guroo Sahib Jee themselves referenced dates and historical events in GurBani according to the Bikrami calendar. Therefore, these GurSikhs will ask the question: if it's good enough for Guroo Sahib Jee, why isn't it good enough for us?

A few years ago when all the nanakshai calender fiasco arose, the sampardas had very solid arguments against this calender and the dates within. HOWEVER the nanakshahi calender was FORCED upon the panth by anti panthic sources, it was made by a person not even from india.

The key dates of Vaisakhi, Shaheedi Purbhs of Guru Sahibs, Avtaar Purbhs etc were all changed.

Interestingly the shaheedi of Guru Arjan Dev Jee was also changed to not coincide with the beginning of JUNE - Hence Remembering the 1984 attack which took place on the shaheedi divas.

This was forced upon us. . . Some thought that it was good and said anything to made us distinct from hindus is positive, others realised that the sampardas were against it, so decided to support it to be against ''sants'' - the way of the world in kaljug.

One of the only things they kept the same was guru nanak dev jees avtaar purbh which they would change the date of every year.

The calender is a joke, and its interesting how after a few years they realised. it was a joke when they brought it into play. . .

Why didnt guru sahibs make there own calender?

References to times in gurbani are in bikrami format - why change? if its ok for our gurus then why do we change it?

No ones going to vote for badal wether he does or dsnt change the calender, its quite a joke that you think that he is the one that wants it changed, if anything i would have thought he would be totally against it.

REgarding gurpurbhs coming twice a year - there was only one, that of guru gobing singh jee maharaj. Because its towards the end of december or start of january, hence why sometimes it would come twice (as according to the english calender) this year it falls of the 24th december. Its better it came twice and in accordance to what the gurus did instead of the granthi at the gurdvara saying '' guru jee its ur gurpurbh today and lying to the sangat - as its not''

This is true, Badal just wants to cause more confusion in the Panth. But we should have stuck to the Bikarmi right from the start, infact some didn't even change to the Nanaksahi calendar, so this sangat is pretty much saying, who cares.

I could just see the confusing dividing the Panth up even more now.

Everyday is Gurpurab. Everyday Guru Nanak is Parkaash. Everyday is a Special Day for a Sikh who has a Relationship with His/Her Poora Guru, GuruGranth Sahib Jee.

BJP Owns Badal. Badal Owns SGPC. SGPC Owns Jathedaars.

Congress Wants to Finish the Spirit of Sikhi; and Attack Guru Gobind Singh. They Want to Attack the Bani of Dasam Patshah, and The Khande-Pahul Amrit of Panj Pyareh. They Want to Attack the Panj Kakaars. Congress Owns Sarna. Sarna Owns DSGMC. DSGMC has Secret Plans to Conquer Akal Takhat With the Support of Congress. Then They will Own Their Jathedaars. Darshan Ragi and Gang are Supported by Gang of Sarna.

Current SGPC and DSGMC are both puppets of Anti-Khalsa Principles.

Badals Owns SGPC. Badals also Own Liquor Industry in Punjab.

Congress and Badals are at War. A lot of Corruption of Congress and Badals Coming to Light. PIMS is just one of Many Many Many. What can Badals do to deter attention? Oh!!! Use their secret weapons to divert the masses; What? Who? Where? What controversy can they bring up to divert attention? OOHH!! Calendar!! Akal Takhat! Their Secret Weapon! They have Many Secret Weapons They Can Bring up At Any Time to Divert Attention. Calendar is Just one of Their Tactics from Their Arsenal.

Look at your corner Gurdwaras all over the world. Anti Sikh Principles are Everywhere! Millions of Rupees, Dollars, and Pounds are being stolen by Corrupt Committees. The Gurus' Golak can be used by Khalsa to do So Much Good for the World, but it is either being Stolen, or not being Utilized for Gurmat. Why has Khalsa Not Brought the Langar of the Guru to the World? What has Khalsa not Brought the Message of the Khalsa to the World? Do you not Know that All our Gurus' Went Everywhere, and Set up Manjees Everywhere to Preach Sikhi! Why are You Stuck in Walls and Marble of a Building? Don't you know the Whole World is the Dharamsala of the Khalsa!?

The Keertanees that come to your Local Gurudwara are Talentless. They don't know any Raags. They don't play the Gurus' Instruments. They have No Sur. They have No Jeevan.

The Kathavatchiks that come to your Local Gurudwara Praise the Committees and rely on them for Their Salt. They Praise GuruGranth Sahib Jee as a Formality. They themselves don't live what they preach. Its all a Show for Fame and $$.

Very rare are Those Authentic Keertanees and KathaVachiks. Most are Fakes that don't practice themselves what they preach.

The Gurus' Instruments, Raags, Taals have been Killed.

Gurmatta has been Destroyed.

Sarbat Khalsa has been Destroyed.

The Prestige of Akal Takhat has Been Corrupted.

Love of Bani of Dasam Patshah is Being Attacked.

Badals and Sarna have agents in many Sikh Institutions, who work when commanded, not only in India, All Over the World!

Women Cannot do Keertan in Darbar Sahib. (This is another secret weapon of many that they have. They have Agents in other 'Sikh Institutions', who will Start Trouble if Women be permitted, at their call.
