Official Statement From Buddha Dal On Southall Incident

Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

Dear Sadh Sangat Jee,

Friday March 19th 2010 is a day we should never forget. We decided to unite and take a stand in the face of the forces that work against our Guru. We were like the shadows of the Singhs and Singhnee’s of our past, representing our future.

The morcha that took place to stop Darshan sitting on stage in the darbar sahib at Miri Piri Academy in Southall is the first of many more to come. Until we as a panth, decide that we will hold Guru sahibs bachan, His words as most sacred people will continue to abuse and slander our Guru’s.

Individuals like Darshan and Kala Afghana have been killing the sikh psyche for many years spreading propaganda against the core beliefs of the panth. Their sole purpose is to create confusion and divide our panth. Darshan has been announced as a vemukh, a traitor and a tankheea of the panth. Anyone who follows his words or his beliefs is also a vemukh. Do you wish to associate with such men? THINK! Would Guru Sahib associate with such men?

Do not allow yourselves to fall into a false sense of security sadh sangat jee. You can go into many shops not far from where the incident on Friday night took place and pick up CD’s by Darshan that has shabads from Sri Guru Dasam Granth jee. In all the years he has served as a ragi he never voiced any opinions against Sri Guru Dasam Granth Jee. Why the sudden change?

Our panth has been injected with a cancer and we allow our community to perpetuate this. All this division and misunderstanding of Guru Sahibs words is damaging our present and will devastate the young minds of tomorrow. We must rid ourselves of any doubt.

We come across many bani’s that we may not understand or not have the intellect to conceptualise. This does not mean we should discount them, we should ask for guidance and understanding. We should embrace our history and accept that Guru Gobind Singh Jee has created a lineage for us, so misunderstandings such as the ones that face the panth today have no standing.

We may not have the financial means or the media connections to combat the poison that is spread, but we have the satkar and prem for Guru sahibs paviter Gurbani. That resolve will never be shaken.

For all the naysayers that walk amongst us, consider this...

One of the greatest Gursikhs to have ever lived, Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee sat in front of Guru Gobind Singh and transcribed Gurbani as maharaaj recited it. Akhar for akhar, shabad for shabad, these granths still exist today. Is this not enough for you?

I stand before the sangat and urge you to complete your santhiya in the institutions that have been created for us. Education is an absolute must for all Sikhs. If more of us value education and become more learned about Sikh history and philosophy people like Darshan, Manmohan and Thekadar would not last a minute.

For all my brothers and sisters that stood with Buddha Dal, Taruna Dal and Dam Dami Taksaal on Friday night I commend you. I walked away that night feeling proud that the nau jawaan fauj of the UK has that pride, conviction and prem that they will stand for what is right no matter the circumstance. There is nothing that we can’t achieve when we stand together. There is still a long way to go and we must double our efforts with printing leaflets, CD’s, arranging programs and amrit sanchars.

Our enemies are aware that they are able to avoid all panthic discussion that they have been invited to. They are aware they can hide amongst us and spread their propaganda but now they are highly aware that we will not let them get away with it. They know we will not sit in silence. We will act courageously in defence of Guru Sahibs Gurbani.

Our best line of defence is to become the best Gursikhs we can possibly be. We can strive to be excellent in what we do. Read Gurbani, complete santhiya, never miss an amrit vela, stay tiaar bur tiaar and praise your weapons. We must train vigorously and educate ourselves for the era that approaches us.

We have forces against us that go beyond what we can see. We need to embrace our panth, our tradition and our history in order to battle our foes. We all have a choice to make. We can sit on the sidelines and watch the battle play out in front of us or we can take a stand.

Khalsa so jo kare nit jhang, khalsa so jo charai tarang, khalsa so jo shaster dhare, khalsa so jo dusht ko mare.

Sriakaaljeesahai

Q. During the Empire it was the British who encouraged the reverence paid to Dasam Granth Ji and they started the practice of parkash of both Granths at the same time.

The following is an excerpt from a book, Sketch of the Sikhs, a singular nation in the province of Penjab, written by Sir John Malcolm in 1812. John Malcolm's work is one of the rarest firsthand information recorded by a western historian on the lifestyle, belief systems and traditions of the Sikhs in Punjab during the 18th century.

Guru-mata

When Gurmata or great national council, is called, (as it always is, or ought to be, when any imminent danger threatens the country, or any large expedition is to be undertaken) all the Sikh chiefs assemble at Amritsar. The assembly, which is called the Guru-mata, is convened by the Acalis; and when the chiefs meet upon this solemn occasion, it is concluded that all private animosities cease, and that every main sacrifices his personal feelings at the shrine of the general good; and, actuated by principles of pure patriotism, thinks of nothing but the interests of the religion, and commonwealth, to which he belongs.

When the chiefs and principal leaders are seated, the Adi-Granth and Dasama Padshah ka Granth are placed before them. They all bend their heads before these scriptures, and exclaim, Wa! Guruji ka Khalsa! Wa! Guruji ki Fateh! A great quantity of cakes, made of wheat, butter, and sugar, are then placed before the volumes of their sacred writings, and covered with a cloth. These holy cakes, which are in commemoration of the injunction of Nanac, to eat and to give to others to eat, next receive the salutation of the assembly, who then rise, and the Acalis pray aloud, while the musicians play. The Acalis, then the prayers are finished, desire the council to be seated. They sit down, and the cakes being uncovered, are eaten of by all classes of Sikhs: those distinctions of original tribes, which are, on occasions, kept up, being on this occasion laid aside, in token of their general and complete union in one cause.

The Acalis then exclaim: "Sirdars! (Chiefs) this is Guru-mata!" on which prayers are again said aloud. The chiefs, after this sit closer, and say to each other: "The sacred Granth is betwixt us, let us swear by our scripture to forget all internal disputes, and to be united." This moment of religious fervor and ardent patriotism, is taken to reconcile all animosities. They then proceed to consider the danger with whcih they are threatened, to settle the best plans for averting it, and to choose the generals who are to lead their armies against the common enemy. The first Guru-mata was assembled by Guru Govinid; and the latest was called in 1805, when the British army pursued Holkar into the Penjab.(pages. 120-123)

This excerpt clearly shows the existence and acceptance of two different Granths by the Sikhs, the author specifically names "Adi-Granth and Dasama Padshah ka Granth", it's clear he's not using Dasam Patshah da Granth to mean a recession of Guru Granth Sahib created by the 10th master.

Some Sikhs with rudimentary knowledge such as Dr. Jasbir Singh Mann want us to believe that the British or someone else tampered and introduced the Dasam Granth in the 19th century. This just is not true, Dr. Mann would have us believe that the British would first write spurious sketches like the above, introduce the Dasam Granth, and then fool the Sikhs by pointing to those sketches as proof of Dasam Granth’s acceptance, it just does not add up. Remember the British were not in charge of the Punjab until 1812 and the evidence of parkashe’s of the two Granths is well before this. Finally, why would the British want to write a Granth that encourages their opponents (the Sikhs) to bear arms? If anything, they would want to suppress it and thereby neuter the Sikh threat.

Jasbir singh Mann has not seen even one manuscript of Dasam Granth sahib.Yet he is maintaining a website where he is systematically misleading ignorant sikhs deceptively about dasam Granth sahib.

He has been countered and defeated in internet discussions. He has absolutely no knowledge about contents of Dasam granth.

Dasam Granth Controversy Promoted by Anti Sikh Scholars (OP-ED)

February 4, 2010 Source: sikhsangat.org dasamgranth.jpgUK: Attempts made by pseudo-scholars of Sikhism to try and create controversies are a part and parcel of Sikhism these days. The in-depth knowledge needed to understand Sri Dasam Granth requires hard work. However, a new breed of pseudo scholars and Internet cut and paste merchants are the standard. Whilst many Panthic scholars who, by nature, are pro-Dasam Granth have had years of training and methodology related to religion, studies of scripture etc, the opposite side is literally naked! In their bandwagon are the ‘YouTube’ Gianis, truck drivers, an excommunicated ex-Jathedar of the Akal Takht and the self-appointed Singh Sabha Canada – what a joke.

Cut and paste scholars

youtube-1.jpgThe self-appointed Chief of this ilk of Pseudo-scholars is none other than a doctor from Southern California, USA. Having a delusion that he has a Doctorate in religion he has dreamt up many a claim on the Dasam Granth. His delusions include cut and paste notes on how the scripture of the Sri Dasam Granth is incorrect and has no history. He is infamous for creating the most hilarious theory in pseudo scholarship – namely, the British created the Dasam Granth. This individual is a medical doctor, but he is more concerned with the anatomical references in the Charitropakhyan! He should do what doctors of medicine do – do the job he knows, and treat medical illnesses. What scholarship do we expect from a medical Doctor who has no training in religious studies?

youtube-2.jpgWhilst there are many saroops of the Dasam Granth from the time of the Guru through to the 18th century, only somebody with limited intellectual skills could come up with such a lazy theory. This insane theory centers on one Manuscript of the Dasam Granth based in the British Library which he claims has the same compositions as the standardised Dasam Granth. This manuscript from the late 18th century was bought by a collector of manuscripts named Colebrooke. On one of the pages is the term “Nanak Panthi Kabya” hence as a result this gentleman states that that the Granth is not called the Dasam Granth. He claims that this Dasam Granth from the late 1700’s was used in the standardized Dasam Granth by the Sodhak Committee. However, this is a lie. The Sodhak Committee looked at over 25 different recensions of the Dasam Granth. He also tries to fool the public with the term “Nanak Panthi Kabya”. Little does he know that it also appears in a Janamsakhi in the British Library. The name is a catalogue name for manuscripts. So there dies this ingenious theory of a cut and paste scholar.

Whilst Akali Phula Singh was being attacked by the British he was maintaining the maryada prevalent at the Akal Takht, the same maryada which is maintained by the Nihangs to this very day and two Takhts of the Sikhs, Patna Sahib and Hazur Sahib. If the Akalis were venerating the bani of Guru Gobind Singh why would the British create a Granth and then attack the same people who did prakash of it with the Guru Granth Sahib?

The prakash of the Dasam Granth at the Akal Takht (which the Akalis were in charge of) was removed by the SGPC in the 1940’s. However the other Takhts would not bow down to such a sacrilege and as a result the prakash continues with flourishing colours.

Religion for sale

Some of this doctor’s articles have appeared in the World Sikh News who are peddling the phobia of the Dasam Granth and promoting a Tankhyia ex Jathedar, together with a tabloid website Sikhchic. It is matter of fact that some persons have been going around offering money to the people behind shady websites and individuals to write negative articles regarding the Dasam Granth.

scholars.jpgThis is not surprising as the anti Dasam Granth lobby do not have a leg to stand on as a result they have turned to writers for sale. It has been known for some time that money is being offered to various scholars at Universities. As a result recently a score of articles have appeared from people including Dr Balwant Singh Dhillon (Guru Nanak Dev University), Dr Kashmir Singh (Guru Nanak Dev University), Dr Balkar Singh (Punjabi University, Patiala), Dr Gurnam Kaur (Punjabi University, Patiala).

Whilst these individuals who have not undertaken the work of the Dasam Granth in their PHD’s they are now been brought into the limelight. Even more surprising is that the phony calendar maker Pal Singh Purewal has been brought into prove that the dates within the Dasam Granth are incorrect. These people have no bounds. All 18th century texts accept the dates of compilation within the Dasam Granth but now a failed calendar salesman is now an expert on the Dasam Granth. What next a genealogist to prove that compositions were not written at Paonta or Anandpur? Or astronomers to prove that the Sun rises from the West and not East. The pseudo clans of Scholars these proagandists are breeding are bound to call day, a night and vice-versa

Anybody with a little bit of sense knows it takes years to build up a theory, and to undertake real research many manuscripts, books have to be studied. That is why there are experts on the Dasam Granth who have their degrees in Universities. To understand the Dasam Granth you need linguistic Skills, historical knowledge of Braj literature, the poets of the Guru, study of manuscripts and many other methodologies.

In one writing, they also tried to belittle the contributions of the members of the Sodhak Committee by highlighting their occupation, but omitting their Gurmat and literary expertise. That exposed their nefarious anti Sikh designs and real modus operandi big time.

It is earnestly hoped such people shed their hatred for scripture of tenth master. Money can buy you a new car or house but cannot buy real research.

It seems that he is a potential candidate for being called to akal takhat after darshan ragi.

The first is a wonderful post by budha dal.

In My Opinion,

This Is The Propaganda They Do. They Attack First, Then They Do This Kind of Stuff. Panjab Radio Is One Of Darshan Snakes Outlets Of Evil Propaganda To Attack Khalsa Dharma. The Sharaabee Goons There on Darshan Lal's Side Were Hired By Darshan Snake Clan To Do Exactly This. They Go Around To Do This. Their Own Maha Paaps Will Lead To Their Own Destruction. Akaal Purakh Is Real. Darshan Snake Has Made His Bed Of Maha Paap. Guru Sahib Kirpa Karna. May All Khalsa Dharma Dhusts Be Destroyed By Akaal Purakh Himself (I am NOT Advocating Any Violence. We Must Destroy These Demons With Truth). Don't Fall Into Their Traps Of Trickeries. Darshan Snake Has A Full CongRSS Propaganda Team Behind Him. RSS, Arya Samaj, Communists, CongRSS, There Are Many Groups In India With Interests To Attack Sri DasamGranth Sahib Ji. Sri DasamGranth Sahib Is Filled With Spirit Of Bir Ras and Rule and A Lot More. It Is From Dasam Patshah That Khalsa Warriors Get Their Strength. India Has ALWAYS Hated Strength of Khalsa. When They Needed Khalsa To Fight, They 'Kissed' Their Feet. When They Didn't' of 'Were Done' With Them, They Try To Destroy Them. This Is The Truth. They Are Attacking Dhan Dhan Sri DasamGranth Sahib Ji.

There Is A Whole Propaganda Machine Behind Attacking Sri DasamGranth Sahib Ji. It Involves Big $$$ And Is All Done From 'Inside Punjabee Snakes'. Media Is One Outlet They Use. Anyone Can Be Bought Out With A Few Million. What To Speak Of a Few Million, Many Of These Atheist Heretics Can Be Bought Out For Pennies.

Guru Sahib Kirpa Karna. They Will Fail From All Sides. As Long People Know The Truth About True Khalsa Dharma, They Cannot Do Anything. Their Supporters Are All Sharabee Kababee No Jeevan 'Modern' Types. They Know NOTHING Of True Khalsa Dharma. These People Will Realize Their Mistakes Near Time of Their Due Death (We All Have To Die And Leave Our Bodies One Day), And At That Time It Will Be Too Late For Them. They Will Repent Then.

May Guru Sahib Do Kirpa And Bless His True Khalsa Dharma Aashikhs And May Guru Sahib Destroy The Demons Who Attack Sri DasamGranth Sahib Ji and True Khalsa Dharma And May The Entire Palace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Be In The Hearts Of Khalsa Dharma Aashikhs Everywhere.

On One Side These Propagandists Talk of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. On The Other Side They Kill Khalsa Dharma From Inside Gurudwaras And Have Smokers Working And Doing Maha Beadbee of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This Is Darshan Snakes Truth.

May Guru Sahib Do Kirpa And All Dhusts From Inside And Outside Be Destroyed By The Power Of Akaal Purakh! (I am NOT Advocating Violence. Be Smart).
