Query About Meat

Recommended Posts

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh.

is it true that one of Guru Amar Das Jee's relative was a veshnu (vegetarian hindu)?

and when guru amar das jee started the langar, the veshnu guy came, and saw there was meat being served...

and since the veshnu guy could'nt eat it, so guru amar das jee made the langar vegetarian??? so everyone can eat it, and not feel left out?

is this true, or is this bubbles im hearing?

REQUEST TO ADMIN, PLEASE DO NOT LOCK THIS TOPIC, LET THE SANGAT GIVE THEIR VIEWS PLEASE.

IF THIS GOES OFF, THEN YOU MAY LOCK THE TOPIC :)

Guru Amar Das ji before coming into the Sangat of Guru Angad Dev Ji Maharaj was a very religious Vaishanavite Hindu who spent most of their life performing all of the ritual pilgrimages and fasts of a devout Hindu. This meant they were a vegetarian even before getting darshan of Maharaj. Therefore theres no question of them serving meat in langar.

Any historical event has to correlate to SGGS Ji Maharajh , otherwise it has to be considered as an adulteration as per:

(੧੩੭੪-੧੧, ਸਲੋਕ, ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ)

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋਰੀ ਕੀਏ ਜੁਲਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਹਤਾ ਨਾਉ ਹਲਾਲੁ ॥

kabeer joree keeeae julam hai kehathaa naao halaal ||

Kabeer, to use force is tyranny, even if you call it legal.

why do we care?

Did You know ?

The first war between Sikhs and mughals was over a hunted hawk. Sikhs killed prey claimed by Mughals and refused to part with it. This resulted in first Sikh Mughal War, which was won by Sikhs.

What will you do now?

Please let me clarify this. Guru Gobind Singh kept the Baaz and wore a Kalgi because the Mughals had banned non Muslims form both these.

Both were acts of defiance by Guruji.

Also its my humble opinion that as one rises spiritually one gets a dislike for non veg food.

The battle was over the hawk that was captured by the Sikhs of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, not its prey. The sikhs refused to part with the hawk and so a battle ensued, won by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. If you are hinting that Guru Ji hunted, then yes Guru Ji did and there was a number of reasons for this, BUT none of these reasons was hunting for food. Any soul

that is elevated will shun eating meat. Ask any spiritually enlightened soul, they will not eat meat. Guru Ji is pure as pure can be and there should be no doubt that Guru Ji refrained from eating meat, they ate simple food - pulses, daal, sabzi, roti, very simple food, for their real food was being attached to Akaal Purkh at all times.

    • You see some type of behaviours and undertones in Indian serials particularly in the saas-bhau drama serials.  I recall the one serial called "Kyau Ki Saas Bi Khabi Bhau Thee",  where the protagonist Tulsi is kind of revered as a some devi and when she was challenged by some scheming female villain then she would step up to her and that Conch shell sound effect, it was like Mahabharat or something and she fighting for dharma like it was some kind of 'dharam yudh'. Even the dialogue was Bhagavad Gita like when taking about 'truth' Then they will also introduce and influence certain rituals I never even heard of like this 'Karva Chauth ' , where a wife will fast for her husband for a day and in the evening break her fast when the moon came out and she will hold some tambourine like object over the moon. Then I started hearing about some of our girls/women started doing this for their husbands. And I am like 'come off it', this seems to be some made up recent ritual, we have never done this in our traditions.  There is a lot of soft power and influence in the media.
    • I hv it downloaded I can send u via whatsapp. message me ur no.
    • Anyone have this not on scribd?
    • It goes both ways. If you hear the Islamic narrative they also prob up Islamic invaders and rulers as benign. You should hear what they say about an invader like Muhammad Bin Qaasim who is hailed as a hero and who they claim just came to save a few Muslim women while the defender Raja Dahir is portrayed as an evil scheming, degenerate pervert. But historic Muslim sources like the Chachnama convey a different story and testify how the invading Muslim Arabs had taken thousands of Hindu Sindhi women back with them.    Or look at how they view Aurangzeb. They shamelessly justify his hate  and war crimes against the Hindus and Sikhs. Many even call him a Wali of Allah or a great saint much like how the Buddhists view King Ashok. He is universally respected by Sunni Muslims. He is basically the main reason why most Punjabi and Mirpuri Rajputs and Jatts are Muslims in Pakistan today.   The Hindu and Muslim grand narratives are very different. The Sikh grand narrative can best be read at the starting of Bhangu's Panth Prakash. Bhangu very elaborately explains the condition of India before Guru Nanak Dev ji took avtar and then what followed and how Sikhs got raaj by Vaheguru
