I am looking for further information and explanation on the following:

1. Definition of Pehar:

What is pehar.

How many are in a day/night.

When does the day/night pehar start and finish?

2. Madhyan:

What is madhyan? Any information will be great.

I think one pehar is 3hrs, such as amritvela example, but not sure somebody can correct me.

Madhyan not sure if its in sikhism, somthinto do with periods i guess like pehar.

one pehar is 3 hours. so there 8 pehars in a day starting from 12am to 3am and so on.

about madhyan....are you sure its madhyan and not madhya'm'?

anyways, english transliteration can be very difficult. Madhyam means medium. and maddham means slow......i seriously do not know which one you mean.

found this in dictionary: madhyaahna = midday; middle of the day... so madhyaan is probably a simplified version of it.
