singh, number 1, it doesnt take a sant to have such power. As I said, any tom <admin-profanity filter activated> and harry can acheive it--given that they have the right mindset and set about to acheive it.

ANYONE, YES YOU, CAN HAVE SUPERPOWERS.

Becoming a sant is a whole other story. but chances are you will become a bhagat once you are at such a stage, unless you indulge.

Regarding flying, as far as I have heard, its a natural occurence. Gurbani lifts your soul, your heart, your mind, and then your whole body, literally!

Its something that cant be helped, and the first time or so it happens, most singhs cant control it. Some singhs do indulge in it privately, because hey, ITS COOL. No but seriously, I dont think the first few times it happens, singhs would even know its happening, thats what I have heard, many times someone has had to tell them to stop before they realize.

Staying gupat is very essential in Gurmat rahini, bahini and saheni. Sings flying and hitting the walls were common during Bhai Randhir's time. There were stories which I can not elaborate further, but the fat point here is that, this sikhs when doing NAAM simran abiyass, were flying, and after the sessions, they found themselves sitting in different places in the sangat, some on top of another, some without their dastar's as it falls off, loose hair (hair knot opened), some had their heads bleeding as they hit the walls and ceilings in great force, some laughing and some crying.

This sikhs with Bhai Sahib ji were very complex in nature but this is what Sikhi was. They all kept this profile very low between others.

There was a Singh (still in New Zealand) who during Bhai Sahib's time had this Naam Ras nectar (Amrit sweet nectar) flowing in his mouth and he did not knew what was hapenning. So, he asked some singhs about this Ras thing, they told him to keep quite and carry on his naam abiyass. But, getting excited, he left the sangat and when to Patiala, where in an incident, he started boasting this with his fellow mates. The next day, he could not get this nectar Ras flowing.

So, he decided to ask Bhai Sahib Ji, and Bhai Sahib reply was why didn't you listen the singhs when they told you to keep quite about it and carry on doing naam simran.

Bhai sahib told this singh to jump off the next water well he sees, and not to disturb him anymore. Till today, this singh has not got this Ras thing.

So, gupat is very important.

With the number of Gursikhs like mkhalsa on this forum, surely someone amongst the members here has flown.  Will they be humble enough to present themselves to the sangat please.  And if they would be so kind enough, could some of them actually record the event as well.

I am no gursikh. I am not worthy of such a title. I am a hypocrite. I am a criminal. I am a dusht.

But as I can see you doubt the abilities of gursikhs. Is this because you have forsaken sikhi and only worship your 5 leaved guru? For such a person, all you can do is scream and cry and tell those who know the truth that they are wrong, while they sit there with a smile on their face in contentment.

Possibly.

I am a sceptic, I will not deny that. The reason for my scepticism is simple. I believe that these stories of flying Gursikhs arise to giv

e people a false impression of what can be achieved with faith. Similar to that story from some months back where a girl apparently did Ardas when she was confronted by a rapist. The girl was not attacked because the rapist 'saw' two huge Gursikhs escorting the girl.

Stories of Gursikhs flying because they were chardi-kala compared to us hypocrites is a nice way of portraying how 'things were better in the olden days'.

I have faith in Sikhi and our Guru's, but I just find these stories hard to believe.

BUT I am open to change. If I can be convinced then I will humbly retract this scepticism and apologise for my mistake.

ps I will NEVER forsake Sikhi Mkhalsa.

finally someone i can agree with

Your EXACTLY right.

These stories are made up to help us learn about sikhi more and how life can be with "faith."

Please dont blindly believe these.

Sat Sri Akal:

"These stories are made up to help us learn about sikhi more and how life can be with "faith." "

Made up...eh...

Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji was a Gursikh. Go have a read at this book and tell me if he made all this up:

http://www.akj.org/skins/default/books.ppa...p?ch=1&bookid=2

Or how about Baba Harnaam Singh Ji, another Gursikh. Have a gander and tell me if this is made up:

http://www.lotusmedia.co.uk/sikhstudent/Do...nam%20Singh.pdf

Better yet, try this quote. It's status is... :

nv inDI ATwrh isDI ipCY lgIAw iPrih jo hir ihrdY sdw vswie ]

nav nidhhee at(h)aareh sidhhee pishhai lageeaa firehi jo har hiradhai sadhaa vasaae ||

The nine treasures and the eighteen spiritual powers of the Siddhas follow him, who keeps the Lord enshrined in his heart.

(Guru Amar Daas Ji, Raag Sorath, 649).

Can such powers be granted to individuals on the search of the Almighty? Yes. Do those seekers make them their objective? NO. But that does not mean they do not occur.

When, in this world, you or anyone else comes something they are not able to fully comprehend or understand, it is not correct to di

smiss it as "made up". I am not able to comprehend this either, but the Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikhs it has inspired leads me to believe that there is something that this manmukh knows not about, but it does exist.

No offense meant.

The whole idea of Gursikhs levitating is not something NEW, as Mkhalsa and others have already mentioned. I know of a Gursikh from India, when he was down here in the UK doing kirtan at somebodys house, his body started to rise upwards (i.e. off the ground), and the Singh’s behind him had to rub his back to keep him down. To be honest with you, I DO believe in all of this as such things DO happen with Gursikhs who have high avastha etc. with this Singh, you could tell that Gurbani was held tight within his hirda (i.e. heart)…as when he spoke out Gurbani quotes (ALL remembered kant- i.e. by memory) he would have tears flowing out of his eyes...truly AMAZING!

Just like others here have mentioned, it is something which ‘just happens’ and the Gursikhs blessed as such, cant control it. And yeah…you don’t get to hear about all of this as it is something which is best kept Gupt! I’ve never seen such things happen, but know they do! Also there are other things…one e.g. is a Singh while asleep will start to speak out Gurbani etc but not be aware of it, i.e. they are asleep/unconscious, but others in the room have heard it etc.

PLEASE…DON’T underestimate the POWER of Gurbani!

Yeah, I have seen that. Its amazing. Anhad shabad..
Please dont blindly believe these.

natsilah, I am not one to ever blindly beleive something. I questioned EVERYTHING in my life. I used to question like mad, this led me to stop beleiving in god. But then I started questioning more, and god just revealed all of these things to me with logic and in a scientific way that my mind could wrap around it.

My faith comes from such logic and now from love and yes I have some blind faith, but only because I know the truth will be revealed shortly to me.

I havent flown, I do not have such powers, I am just a manmukh, but I am sure if I ever got to such a stage, guru sahib would help me undersatnd it and I would see how it works. But I doubt thats going to happen anytime soon haha..

But yeah, I have tasted the sweet beautiful naam, I KNOW it has that kind of power. Any amritdhari can tell you that. the power of naam is so great.

I have heard of so many great stories, and seen such things, that its impossible NOT to beleive in it! that

s how powerful naam is. Its just impossible to explain!!

The one thing I REALLY REALLY HATE is when gursikhs read my mind, it bugs the heck out of me, and a certain singh does it on purpose to me :|
