The Satkaar Campaign Sevadaars learnt the concerning news yesterday evening that there may be the Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj's Pavittar Saroop being taken to Hampton Court House, Hampton Court Road, Surrey, KT8 9BS on Sunday 29 May 2011.

This is very early stages and we are still trying to establish facts, though we were tipped off last night that it is intended that a Sikh Anand Karaj will take place at this venue. A Sevadaar has started a dialogue with the groom's family this morning, who confirmed that the wedding with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj's Pavittar Saroop will be taking place there. The 1998 Akal Takhat Sahib Hukumnaama was explained to them, which gives the Sikh Community clear guidance that the sacred Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj must never be taken to venues where alcohol, meat and tobacco are continously served. An offer by the Satkaar Campaign to re-arrange the wedding in a Gurdwara was also provided. We are not aware of who the Granthi or Ragi Jatha are that will be carrying out the ceremony/Beadbi, though apparently the wedding has been booked there for some months.

The Satkaar Campaign officially sent an email to the venue last night and have followed up with phone calls. However, given the short timeframe involved, we now feel that the Sangat also need to contact the venue directly to courteously communicate to them the insult to Sikh sentiments that will occur by permitting the Anand Karaj to take place there.

We must all remember that it is the duty of every Gursikh to prevent Beadbi, and given that there is so much Beadbi happening, the Khalsa Panth must be united in collectively tackling it, whilst also being careful to use its collective resources most effectively where needed.

This is very sad news. The Khalsa Panth has to wake up from its sleep Singho/Singhneeyon!

Does this help explain why the Dudley protest was cancelled, as action might be needed here? I called the place up, but the woman didn't answer. I left her a voicemail, and will try calling again in the morning. Has anyone else called?

*UPDATE* Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj to take place at Hampton Court House, Surrey

The Satkaar Campaign's Sevadaars have been contacted by the Groom who has stated that the Anand Karaj has been re-arranged from Hampton Court House, Surrey to a Gurdwara.

The groom further stated that the Hampton Court House will be issuing a statement tomorrow confirming that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj's Pavittar Saroop will not be brought onto their premises on 29th May 2011.

This case will not be closed until the statement from Hampton Court House is received.

27/05/2011 - Written Confirmation has been received from the management of Hampton Court House that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj's Pavittar Saroop will NOT be brought onto their premises on 29th May 2011.

The management expressed that they did not wish to insult or hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. The management have confirmed the Anand Karaj has been moved to a London Gurdwara.

We thank the Family who under extreme short notice re-arranged the Anand Karaj to a Gurdwara.

A full Press Release will be sent out later today.

A historic victory that I'm sure will go down in the history books

Perhaps someone should check the IQ of some of the supporters of Satkaar ,as they are easily led,and believe a major insult was prevented, despite a thirty year period, where no one really perceived anything wrong with it .

I implore you to look deeper within and higher than the virtue of abstinence.

If a man drinks 1 can of beer in happiness that is Son is to be married ,but still has a Sikh Faith ,may he not be allowed to invite his Guru to attend.

I have met many men who partake in a glass of wine but have the purest of souls .And if with honest effort one bought a beer ,would that not be better than with dishonest means buying a soft drink.

Sikhs being a warrior clan are so good at fighting ,that when they can,t find anyone else to fight ,they seem to find something to fight about.

Sorry I cannot reply to you unless you provide your real name .So that you when you start to resort to insults, like on the Dudley thread, I will atleast have some recourse.

If someone was looting your house for 30 years and you couldn't defend yourself, when you finally build the strength to defend yourself and your property, do yet let the looters carry on, because they been doing it for the last 30 years?
