Noormehalias Plan Function In Guru Ki Nagri, Amritsar

Recommended Posts

http://panthic.org/articles/2664 Amritsar Sahib (KP) – Panthic.org has received information that a function is being organized by supporters of the Noormehal cult also known as Divya Jyoti Jagran in Guru ki Nagri Amritsar Sahib.

While taking a strong notice of this event, Amritsar's Sikh population reported the incident with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee but no actions have been taking so far to stop its occurrence.

Panthic.org was notified that the program is scheduled to be held on July 29-30th at Mal Road Amritsar. If the Sikh leadership does not take a stand to put an end to this samagam, more will be enjoyed by the Noormehal activists openly throughout Punjab.

It was also learned that the followers of the cult staged a protest and stopped traffic at Bhandari Bridge, urging local administration to allow them to hold the controversial congregation in Amritsar Sahib.

The followers of cult stopped the traffic for almost five hours at the Bhandari Bridge, which is one of the traffic hubs of the city. They freed the traffic on the assurance of the district administration allow them to hold their gathering in the city within the next few days.

Sikh organizations are vehemently against the Noormehal cult as they have hurt the Sikh sentiments and distorted Sikh religious scriptures.

Dehdhari Gurudoms have been prevalent in Punjab for many decades. Although many older groups such as Radhaswamis and Darshan Dasis are not as rampant as they were in past, many newer groups are now establishing stoutly throughout the state. One such group is the Noormehal’s Diyva Jyoti Jagran cult which is led by Mahesh Kumar Jha, more commonly known to as “Ashutosh Maharaj”.

With substantial Government support, this cult has been actively misguiding the innocent Sikh village dwellers of Punjab by promoting 'bippar-vaadi' rituals. It is obvious from the activities of the organization that it is receiving illegal financial support from affluent sources. This only became apparent after relations between the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Shamsher Dullo and Ashutosh Jha were exposed by the press.

    • Anyone linking the "kenyan" style turban to Ramgarhia caste is stupid lol. It came from the Jat-only Sikh Regiment in British India (folded, starched single dastar without a pinch). It's called "kenyan style" as Kenya is where it's most popular today and has a lot of Tarkhan living there but it's originally from Jatts in India. Dastar actually opposes caste as a concept anyway so it really doesn't matter.
    • you can use nrimb.com this matrimonial site is very helpful to find Sikhs and other matches for marriage in Canada.
    • Is there a need to insult someone's Dastar style? Feel some shame When you see a Sikh wearing a Dastar you should smile and think "that's my brother" ,not laugh at how he chose to tie his Pagh. Maharaj made a brotherhood in the Khalsa not a fashion contest.
    • Respectfully, this isn't a good idea bro. This is a Sikh forum so it's best not to be distracted with other topics. Most people who visit this site don't have accounts and have questions about Sikhi so we do seva here by educating the Jaante as well. Maybe create a subreddit on Reddit for "casual Sikhs" over there. It would be better as you could link that with r/sikh. And also there are like 4 people still on this site so you won't get much response. It's really inactive here most people use reddit now
    • Sikhs can sleep nanga-sirr if they choose to . Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM. The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh
