Can the Sikh channel let the UK media and Govt know this has happened. In a way it may highlight what is happening to a wider audience and get them released.

There is an unspoken rule amongst the western media to not report on any negative news out of India. That is, any news that might make India look unattractive as an investment destination. Corporations want a piece of the emerging Indian economy, and the same corporations own the western media (ala Rupert Murdoch and his cronies).

I got this from an article by Arundati Roy (I forget what it was called), where she quoted a coversation that she had with a western journalist. I don't know if the sangat is familiar with Arundati Roy. She is an author and an outspoken critic of the Indian govt. She was charged with sedition for saying that India has no right to be in Kashmir. She has also spoken against the Indian governmet's brutal treatment of the Maoist rebels in the North-East. They are fighting the Indian government also, but not many people know about it because the media is intentionally silent.

Is this true? Didnt see anything on SikhChannel though? If its true, this should be highlighted as much as possible in western media because everybody will understand censorship of media.

If this is true the next thing they might do is shut down sikhchannel from india, so no coverage gets out to the outer world and targetting all teams of Sikh Channel in India.
