1984 Sikh Holocaust

Recommended Posts

Exactly paaji.. It is clear that all the atrocities that have been carried out against "Gursikhi" up to the present day is an attempt by various different methods to wipe "Gursikhi" off the map!!

If we look up the two words, its becomes clear what has been done to the Sikhs thus far...

ri·ot - A violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd: "riots broke out in the capital".

hol·o·caust -Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, esp. caused by fire or nuclear war: "a nuclear holocaust".

I know what you mean about the word terrorists papidas. However it's been proven that the indian government's own forces, the black cats and the Third Agency, were actually used by the Indian Government to kill non-Sikhs. The black cats and third agency we made to keep beards and dress up as Sikhs to kill non-Sikhs. That's been proven and admitted by the Indian Government since, and more often recently. The Governments own forces were the Terrorist, the Sikhs instead were just fighting to protect their Girls and Women from being rapped and their young sons from being murdered by the Army and Police:

Please see the extract below written by White Westerners!
The scenario for a disappearance case is familiar. Plain-clothed police officers or members of the paramilitary forces stop a man in the street (disappearance victims are almost always young men who are suspected of being members or having support for one of India's many armed militant groups), or they may pick him up from his place of work or his home. Often the abduction is done at night, but the disregard for the law and the lack of political will to eradicate these practices means the security forces are equally protected if the abduction takes place in broad daylight. ... Many cases of disappearances result in death, disfigured bodies found in canals, by railway tracks and roadsides are testimony to the cover-up of state murder that is so much a part of everyday life in some parts of India. If suspicion of the killing is successfully laid at the feet of the police, it is often denied or invalidated by one of two improbable excuses; that whilst trying to escape he was shot or that he died in an encounter. (Khalsa Human Rights, "'Disappearances' in Punjab".)
According to Joyce Pettigrew, "many young people killed have not been engaged in armed combat. They have been ordinary boys who have disappeared on an errand for their parents, visiting relatives, or while working in their fields, or who have been picked up from their own or their in-laws' home. ... Disappearances occurred primarily in the under-thirty age group. Some villages had lost more than forty young men. Sursinghwala in Amritsar district had lost seventy young men. Buttar Kalan, in Gurdaspur district, lost twenty. Each village has not kept a separate account of its losses. Erring on the conservative side ... it is highly probable that most villages in the Amritsar district would have lost on average ten young men." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children in Situations of Terror: Disappearances and Special Police Activity in Punjab," in Jeffrey A. Sluka, ed., Death Squad: The Anthropology of State Terror [university of Pennsylvania Press, 2000], p. 211.)

Patricia Gossman cites the comments of an Indian police officer who claimed that when armed conflict broke out between Sikh militants and Indian security forces in the early 1980s, "a profile was developed of who was considered to be antigovernment and pro-Khalistan. Based on that profile, young Sikh men between the ages of 18 and 40, who have long beards and wear turbans, are considered to be pro-Khalistan. Whenever the police receive a report from an informant or any other individual that Sikh militants have visited the home of a Sikh family, the police are dispatched to raid the home of that family. Pursuant to that raid, any Sikh male who fits the profile described above is arrested." (Gossman, "India's Secret Armies," in in Bruce B. Campbell and Arthur D. Brenner, Death Squads in Global Perspective: Murder with Deniability [st. Martin's Press, 2000], pp. 266-67.)

The failure to turn up a sufficient quantity of young men for persecution and execution sometimes leads to the detention of female relatives. Though they are rarely killed, rape is common. "When mothers and sisters have been held in custody by the police, their ultimate fate unknown, not all fathers and brothers have been able to cope with the threat of what might happen to them and to remain underground to fight. As one old lady from Sabrawan village, Amritsar district, told me, referring to the many abductions of young girls by the police, 'In every village and each house there is sadness.' Hence, to protect their sisters or indeed some other family member, some young militants and their sympathizers have compromised and become informers." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children," pp. 211, 219.)

Jinnah never trusted Gandhi and Nehru and only settled for a seperate Muslim state during 1947, are we too naive politically that we blindly trusted Gandhi/Nehru and other Hindu leaders during 1947, and do it again now (that's what our Akalis are doing). 50/100/200 years later, when a similar/different situation will be before us, what shall we do then taking past mistakes into consideration ...

Dear Bro

Yes, the dictionary meaning of riot is clashes between two groups of different communities. But here only the groups of Hindu community were attacking the unarmed Sikkh; which clearly means a holocaust or genocide.

To take the revenge of attacking the our most sacred place, indira was ultimately killed & her son called meeting of his cronies & spineless-sycophant in which it was planned & meditated to massacre the Sikkhs to take revenge of their mother.

Sikkh young & old, women & children were openly killed, murdered, burned, eyes gouged, raped, burning tyres were put in their necks. This cold-blooded massacre continued round the clock for several days. A Sikkh was murdered/killed every minute right under the nose of the rulers in the capital of the so called world’s largest democracy.

It was govt. sponsored genocide & extermination of the Sikkhs in which the so called the guardians of democracy govt. politicians, bureaucrats conspired to annihilate the whole Sikkh community.

Not contented, the govt. then unleashed vendetta & vengeance by openly abusing civil liberties & fundamental rights, started fake encounters, pronounced biased judgments and as a whole branded the whole Sikkhs as terrorists & anti-nationals. The only electronic media at that time DD was govt controlled & was used by the government in spreading the propaganda. After operation blue-star many other operations were launched during this period 1985-1997 : Black-thunder (1986 & 88), operation Mannd, Opr Clean, man-made floods, opr Woodrose, Opr Research, Opr. Final Assault, etc

The Indian newspaper Hitavada reported that India paid the late governor of Punjab, Surendra Nath, $1.5 billion to foment and support terrorist activity in Panjab/Khalistan and in Kashmir. http://www.fas.org/i...error-india.htm

The perpetrators now are either MPs, MLAs, or are in positions of power. Some were given gallantry awards, monetary rewards, out-of-turn promotions, medals on their chests and strips on their shoulders by the government for carrying out the genocide.

From fake encounters, now, the form has changed. It is to divide & exterminate:

- Narcotics, drugs are easily available at all medical stores and kirana shops,

- Tthekas at every nook & corner of villages, towns, cities.

- deras in disguise of Sikkhism: 50k+ major/minor, private/religious deras, tantrik,

- Mushrooming of political parties & groups in the name of Sikkhism

- Maltreatment of Panjabi language

Even after passing of 28 years, justice is not dispensed to the victims. The judiciary is unfair & media is biased (as we have seen recently in Bhai Rajoana case). If there is to be any hope for us it has to be a resurgence of our spirit of freedom and the courage of conviction.

Paaji, correct me if I am wrong, but I think your above statement is highlighting the exact same point I am making... It was a Holocaust, hence the title of this topic!!
