My friend tried to get me off drinking soda. Each time he'd see me holding a can, he'd say "oh leh, tu fer ghode da pishaab peen lappeya?" And I'd be like WTH man! He'd say "oye tenu nai pata? ihde ch ghode da pishaab hunda!"

I can relate to it aswell, It's like they prefer being upset and sad to being happy, I think their way to 'liven' up their lives is with a bit of commotion. I blame the drama's. I think the drama's have messed up the whole of Punjab along with other things.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but surely they can't be as simple-minded as to take their cues from TV dramas?

Very cold-hearted people they are, no warmth, and rarely anything to offer beyond the superficial, i.e. what you see is what you get. Even the apparently religious amongst them reduce dharam to a simplistic, dogmatic set of rituals without an ounce of sprituality or grace. Just my opinion of course.
