In the first week 88 UK Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations have pledged support for the Remembrance March and Freedom Rally on Sunday 8 June 2014 organised by the Federation of Sikh Organisations (FSO).

Gurdwaras are from:

Barking – Bedford -Bilston - Birmingham - Bradford - Bristol - Coventry - Darlington - Derby - Handsworth - Harley Grove - Leeds - Leicester -London - Manor Park - Newcastle - Nottingham -Oadby - Oldbury - Peterborough - Seven Kings - Slough - Smethwick - Southall – Southampton - Sunderland - Telford -Tividale - Watford - Wednesfield - West Bromwich - Willenhall - Wolverhampton

The names of Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations, responsible person and contact number for each will be released in the next few days and updated regularly as other Gurdwaras/organsations pledge their full support.

A special programme was recorded on Sangat TV yesterday and is expected to be shown between 7-8pm - the programme covers the protest by Bhai Gurbux Singh and the 30th anniversary on 8 June 2014 organised by the Federation of Sikh Organisations (FSO). See image below:

The huge response in just one week shown by Gurdwaras and organisations in supporting the event being planned for 8 June, the reaction to the online poster and the programme shown on Sangat TV at 9.30pm last night are all very good signs compared to those who have been planning for 6 months a rival event on 1 June, which has received limited support and far less advanced in terms of what is planned for Hyde Park (with NO REMEMBRANCE MARCH AND FREEDOM RALLY IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE).

Given the level of support for the event being organised by the Federation of Sikh Organisations (FSO) on Sunday 8 June 2014, the organisers of the (rival) 1 June event are getting a bit hot under the collar - rather than focusing positive efforts on planning their own event they are running off to the GLA and asking about permissions for the 8 June event and spreading negativity and doubt.

For the record the event being PLANNED for Sunday 8 June is subject to various permissions (probably also the case for the event on 1 June) as is the case with all events until licences, permissions, liability insurance etc. are all issued.
