Guru sahib in bani has told us many places to have naam simran as your medicine...

examples from history ..

.. bibian who had their children totaled inf ront of them, did not adopt islam and ate meat or any food ... they had NAAM SIMRAN with them .. .and veerji they werent bramhgyanis veerji.. BUT who am i to call them one or not ?? but there were soo many bibian.. my main argument is .. they were guru pyare sikh.. if one.is ... u wouldnt adopt meat but rather die ..

just my two cents..

veer je, like i said, if u can use naam to do it, then great

i aint being sarvastic

even chatka shud be avoided at all times, if u can

btw, histroical mistake, mir mannu gave the bibis enough food to survive

like a quater bread, and one bowl of water, something like that

but for those who cant use naam to fill their stomach, then they can do chatka

even in dasamgranth sachai patshah says HALAL is the real kureight

many reightnamas backt his up to

all of maharaj jes samprdhas do not go against chatka meat

be it nihang or taksal or baba deep singh je or bhai mani singh je

but

nihangs right now abuse the use of meatr and bhang

of course naams the best veer je

if u can do it, then chardi kala

but to go to someone who eats chatka and say u broke ure amrit is not true

cause ive noticed much nindya of nihangs on the net

they part of the panth too

if u can survive only naam, which is like a brahm giani

brahm giani ka bhojan gian

and u are at that avastha

then u have no need for chatka

but guru je will not be upset with u if u do do chatka under the circumsttances

Hi guys,

What about Guru Nanak Dev ji going to Kurkshetra and eating meat with his followers to show the Brahmans that one animal is no more holier then another (cows are sacred for Hindus)?

And that post about meat being served in langar during Guru Angad ji's time?

gatae, this is inccorect

guru je first of all got the meat from a price, it was adeer i think

the prinve killed during hunting and gave it to guru je

guru je took it to the river during the solar exclipse

their guru je cooked the meat

however

this was done to show the hindoos their superstitions was dumb

it was said that if meat was cooked, the sun wudnt come back

guru je showed them the sun wud come back

btw

when guru je showed the meat, when they took the lid off, it was kheer

even nihangs i talked to admit this

guru je gave kheer to the sangat their

not meat

this can be used as anti meat actuall

btw, meat was never served in guru jes langar

this is one thing that taksal is very against

meat cannot be served in langar

i have HEARD, dont know for sure that even nihang brahm giani baba chet singh, who ate meat and was a pure sant, even theys aid in guru je langar meat shdunt me served and wud eat their meat outside

meat is not allowed in langat

as bhagat kabber je i belive tel us, keep a diet of daal and roti, without chopar

this is the best diet, with water

its simple

this is wat is in langar

and some kheer for the sweet tooth;)

Hi Khalistani,

I appreciate your civil manner, you have guys like Akal Purakh Di Fauj who just lose it sometimes, but anyways:

From my understanding the sole reason behind no meat in Gurdwaras was because everyone from all corners of the world were allowed to induldge in langar, so if you have a Muslim come in he would not want pig's meat, and if you had a Hindu come in he would not beef etc. etc. and to accomodate all peoples theres a strict vegetartian meal in place.

As you can theres so much contradiction and ways of understanding statements from the Guru's that we cant say for sure what Waheguru has deemed on the issue of meat, at the end of the day I just think that since animals cant comprehend relegion, I'm not against the idea of eating meat.
