I rest my case  :TH:
Vicky Singh, you rest your case on the assumption that its a strong one - It is not.
some guy thought that he will find WMD??

SOME guy? The whole world thought he had WMD. Both of the guys running against Bush said he did. They both voted FOR the war. They saw the same intelligence as Bush. Even Saddam's generals were surprised when the War started and when Saddam told them he had no WMD to fight back with.

i been thru it and it SUX big time..
Without a doubt, not all segments of the American population are well off, but America is still the most prosperous nation in the world, there's no denying that. Take an Economics class Vicky Singh, business cycles will happen no matter what. The economy will go

up, it will come down. It STARTED to come down during Clinton's final year. That doesn't make it Clinton's fault though.

Who gave the hard time to MLK for civil right down in Alabama and Lousiana??

Almost equally both Republicans and "southern" Democrats. Just so you know, the "South" was almost entirely democratic about 30 years ago. There's a current Democratic senator by the name of Robert Byrd from West Virginia who is a former member of the KKK. And I don't understand what you're saying anyway, is Bush a racist? I know you know that he's not, so why do you even bring up ancient history? There've been racists in both parties in the past, does this mean Kerry is a racist too? Use stronger logic in your arguments.

don't jump on conclusion just by some cheap MUTLI million dollar commercial they aired on tv during this campaign or by landing some aircraft on nave fleet..

Vicky Singh, your tone is very condescending. Bush supporters are not idiots as you portray. Please be a little more sensitive and understanding to the other position. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them brainless idiots.

why i should pay a price of $2.60 a gallon while i was paying $1.65 before..

Yes, you're right, Bush is behind the world Oil markets. You've exposed him with your strong evidence. By the way, Kerry proposed a 50 cent per litre Gas Tax a few years ago. :T:

Rupinder,

I liked kerry's answer better on abortion. there are some cases under which most of the SIkhs would prefer abortion. there is no yes or no answer to abortion. in my first post I did say that which person is better for america which has nothing to do with SIkhi. kerry is better for america. if you want to discuss abortion start a new thread. Actually jee, if you look carefully, BUSH said that they had WMDs. France, Germany, and Russia said they didn't. the UN WEAPONS INSPECTORS SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T. Iraq THEMSELVES said that they didn't. If they had them, there were PLENTY of opportunities for the Bush administration to send in weapons inspectors which would not involve 10,000 deaths.

And ANYBODY taking an economics class will tell you that Reganomics FAILED. MISERABLY. (Tax cuts to the richest, and somehow the cuts will "drip-down" into society so everyone is better off). If you want to stimulate the economy, you (1) increase government spending on civil projects and (2) give tax cuts to the poor to middle class (because if you give them a dollar, they will spend every penny of it because they have little to begin with --- give a billionaire a dollar, he just puts it back in the bank!)

Agree w/ that. But does supporting a brainless <banned word filter activated> help anyone?

Which would have still been LESS than what Bush did...

Bush opposes abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the mother’s life.

Think about it for a second...Both hypothetically and theoretically - a life of a "future" child begins at the moment of conception.

So, if we can terminate a pregnancy at say three months because it was "unwanted" ..is it lawful to "kill" a child at the age of three years because his mom/dad/or both do not want to raise/nurture the child anymore? Afterall, it should be lawful as it is only TIME that seperates the two incidents..!

    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
    • All of these are suppositions, bro. Linguists know that, generally, all the social classes of a physical area speak the same language, though some classes may use more advanced vocabulary. I'm talking about the syntax. That is, unless the King is an invader, which Porus was not. When you say Punjabi wasn't very evolved, what do you mean? The syntax must have been roughly the same. As for vocabulary, do you really think Punjabis at the time did nothing more than grunt to express their thoughts? That they had no shades of meaning? Such as hot/cold, red/yellow/blue, angry/sweet/loving/sad, etc? Why must we always have an inferiority complex?
    • I still think about that incident now and then, just haven't heard any developments regarding what happened, just like so many other things that have happened in Panjab!
