Getting Married In December

Hi,

I've heard that it is a faux pas for Sikhs to get married in December due to the shaheedi's of Guru Gobind Singh ji's sons.

Is this true? I've never heard of this before so if it is true, would someone be so kind as to fill me in on this?

How seriously is this taken? Is it considered a big deal if one were to get married in December?

Any info is much appreciated. Thank you kindly

Never heard of that. There is shaheedi every month of the year. Sikhs stay in Chardi Kala.

You will be hard pushed to find a date in the year when Singh's were not being persecuted, sacrificing their lives for Dharam or when protecting others.

I think it might have something to do with the sheer number of xmas trees that appear in the month of December.

If you look back at the plethora of anti-xmas tree threads and messages here on this forum over the years, you'll see that it does get alot of Sikhs inexplainably hot under the collar.

For that reason...I think....all things 'December' should be avoided.

Except Boxing Day sales. For there is nothing unspiritual about a bargain.
