Why Haven't Our Sants Got Popular In The West?

we have so many shiromani,bhramgyanis, and sants. that only seem to like the people of punjab, but the west could use some of these sants.

None of our Sants have gotten popular in the west, other religious teachers of other religions have gotten famous but our sants have not. what is the reason

The genuine ones are crowded out by the dodgy ones, so people assume all of them are dodgy. Plus, there's a jet-set, opulent lifestyle that modern day religious figures lead that, to some people, contradicts the simplicity and humility they espouse to the sangat when they sit on stages telling us how to escape the cycle of birth and death and achieve salvation. That annoys most people with joined-up thinking. Finally, modern day "sant-dom" seems to be a front for accumulating vast amounts of wealth and building up a property / land portfolio, with all kinds of business deals and whatnot occurring behind closed doors. Holding a diwaan a few times a year and directing the sangat towards fulfilling the conditions of what constitutes a "proper" Sikh seems to, in the mind of these figures, make the cynical pursuit of wealth seem acceptable. I'd be curious to know how many of these individuals exist on a couple of hours of sleep before waking up to do bhagti like the Sants of old. I hear from a few individuals who host these men that these "Sants" struggle to rise at 7am.

The genuine ones rarely go abroad. And the ones that do, it's difficult to distinguish them as they rarely show their guhn but to few blessed ones, with Gods grace. Although there are a few that have got famous for their parchaar, eg: baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale

Sants don't really travel a lot, they most likely don't have a special love for Punjabi people if they're truly Sants. Sant Mani Singh became popular I assume.

A sant has love for all ji, as a true one would not look at the negativity in another to discriminate, but how to improve it, thus focus on the positive light in others too.

An old man speaking only Punjabi and espousing some curious eastern religion is hardly going to engage minds over here, is he?

The Easterners who have made dramatic incursions into the world of Western spirituality all spoke English competently. They were actively seeking converts, whereas most Sants content themselves with ministering to the needs of people who are already Sikhs. Most of these Indian mystics ( like Osho, Rajneesh) also propounded the ideology of excessive self-loving, which fits consumerist capitalist societies like a glove.
