First part says that by reciting this shabad 21 times everyday, you will gain lots of knowledge (vidiaa).

I think the second part is saying recite this shabad 5 times and then do Ardaas before you start to read knowledge (vidiaa).

^^Thank you and yes I'm doing this prayer for my education, which I think you must be assuming already?! Do you or does anyone else know how to prepare for the prayer, do I need a white cloth or kailash filled with water or something. I'm still young but I want to do this for my exams. My grandma has kept the book for over 30 years but I found a digital version with English but the instructions were not.

And does 21 times mean 108 x 21, I know that 108 numbers are not necessarily Sikhi based but it's what's prescribed for some of them and I have a mala I got from a Gurdwara in India.

Im not sure about 108, but here it says only 21 times a day. So i think just 21 recitations, not 108.

Hi, it's a Sikh paath from the GGSJ book, I know in my village in India long time back some religious men made lengthy shabar mantars (kind of similar to Hindu ones) for dire situations calling on energies quickly, but this one isn't one of them.

And does it say anywhere to do the 21 times thing in 41 days or anything? Thank you I appreciate the help :)

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

Fateh ji,

It only says in what you sent to do the Paath 21 times everyday and before you start working do it 5 times then do an Ardas (like in the Gurudwara Sahib where we stand up and sing tu thakur rhum peh ardaas)
