As ever, dasmesh pita didn't leave us unprepared for any of the realities of the world, if we just open up our eyes:

Chritar 105: Tale of Taas Beg

Chaupaee

Alimardan (a king) had a son whom the world knew as Taas Beg.

He (Beg) came across the son of a jeweller and he was overpowered by the god of love.(1)

He would everyday go to his house and find solace by seeing him.

As he felt to make love with him to seek comfort, he immediately sent him his emissary.(2)

The emissary tried hard but Mohan Raae (the boy) would not consent.

When he conveyed the decision to him (Beg), he was perturbed and beat him up.(3)

The emissary became furious on receiving the retribution and,

considering him to be an idiotic, decided to do something.

He told Taas Beg, ‘Mohan has consented to come today.’(4)

Hearing this, his joy knew no bounds, as he took it to be true.

He sent away the people and started to drink wine.

Although human being, he had embraced the life of an animal.(5)

(He thought,) ‘My heart is already in the hands of Mohan and I have become his slave since (I saw him).

‘Who-so-ever has a glimpse of him, sacrifices his own life over him.’(6)

When the emissary judged he was totally intoxicated with wine, he broke an egg and spread it on his bed.

He took away his ornaments, the clothes and the turban, and the fool remained unaware.(7)

The intoxication through wine was so intense that, till morning, he did not regain consciousness.

When the night had lapsed and the day broke, he managed to control his mind and body.(8)

When his hand fell over his bed, the <banned word filter activated> thought over,

And called over his emissary, who on query made him to understand thus,(9)

Dohira

‘You were totally under intoxication and would not remember.

Such Chritars could not be discerned by that idiotic and under the

‘Mohan Raae, on my persuasion, had come to your house.(10)

Chaupaee

‘Mohan gave you pleasure by indulging in various gesticulations.

‘You were never in doubt and you gave him all your ornaments, the clothes and the turban.(11)

‘You made love with him lavishly,

and when the day broke you bade him good-bye.(12)

‘Since, then, you have been sleeping, nonchalantly, and half the day has gone by.

When the effect ofthe intoxication wore off, you called me over.’(13)

The imbecile was appeased on learning this and, from his treasure, gave him lot of riches.

He did not distinguish between the truth and deception and squandered his wealth.(14)

Now (the emissary) set off on this design everyday, and put Beg into sleep with excessive wine.

When he would realize he was in deep slumber, he would do whatever he liked.(15)

Dohira

influence of wine got his head shaved off (lost all his wealth).(l6)(1)

Funny how the site automon on a Sikh site considers translations of Guru ji's words as unacceptable.

Why don't we ban the use of the word ਮੂੜ in Gurbani too?

100%. Bani dives and explores all the vices that confine us. For some reason, most likely deliberately, these mlecchas think that topics about Kaam are off limits.

They want to keep us dumb and ignorant.

No more.

Look at how much that conservative attitude contributes to actually helping sexual predators 'thrive'.

    • That happened to me once. I did an additional Jap Ji Sahib for a few days. It was an accident. Make amends according to your conscience, and move on.
    • There is simply no reason to do agan bhet (tribute to the fire). There are ways of repairing books. (Yeah, I know Gutka Sahib is not a mere book, but I'm just talking about the technology of binding.) I have no clue why your soul doesn't agree to do path on that Gutka Sahib. Do you think it has been sullied? Even if you wrote Gurbani on something that was ritually impure, that would make it pure: The palmyra palm tree is considered as impure and so are deemed its leaves to be. But if the Lord's praise be written on it, we worship it and bow before it. p1293   Similarly, Guest Komal, for whatever you think the pages of the Gutka Sahib became "impure" by falling on the ground, it is still pure. Get it out of your head. The very Gurbani you're reciting says so. This is not to say that you should throw dirt on purpose on a Gutka sahib. It is only to say you shouldn't burn a Gutka for your mistake.
    • 1. Beggars can't be choosers. I'll take what we can get. I'm actually fine with numbers.  Yeah, so many of them have no clue what Gurbani says, but as long as they, in their minds, "ਮੰਨ" Guru Granth Sahib ji, that's good enough for me. Because who am I to say I'm any better than them? I am a criminal, a sinner, evil and apostate. I am a thief, adulterer; gambler who always keeps his eye upon other's household. Vaar Bhai Gurdas ji 36, Pauri 21   2. I'm pleased to be part of a Panth which encouraged people to join it for the love of Guru Nanak ji, instead of being forced to (by various means) like the Abrahamics.   3. If you're in the company of non-practicing Sikhs, they'll generally let you do your thing (Nitnem, Reharas, whatever). It's not like you're asking "Hey, mind if I do Namaz?" Or "I'm fasting for Ramadan". You're part of the same religion, though they're not strict about it. 4. What the Mullahs do is, first they get you into their religion. Then they indoctrinate the kids into Jihad. Why can't we do the same (indoctrinate into Bhagti, not Jihad)?
    • But that's not what he was saying. He was saying that certain among us not only compromised with maryada while working for the new masters, but also -during off hours,  -after retiring from service, and -worst of all, passed on those compromises to following generations as a kind of baseline   The only true baseline for maryada is the maryada of Guru Gobind Singh ji.
    • For some reason, many Sikhs insist "Sikhism isn't a missionary religion". Leave aside the word "missionary", I think what they mean is you're never supposed to tell anybody about the greatness of Guru Nanak Dev ji. That's not true. I mean Gurbani says at multiple places Sikhs are supposed to encourage others to recite the Name: Remember, remember, remember the Name and obtain peace. Thyself repeat the Name and make others to repeat it.   That's from Sukhmani Sahib, so there's no excuse for not knowing that verse.
