Waheguru meditation tips

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can anyone give me some simran tips. I try to listen to myself saying waheguru.

Sometimes I feel a lot of emotion, sometimes I feel like I am just saying Waheguru and it’s all blank.

I feel like when I was making progress in feeling a lot of love my stupid ego ruined it because I told someone and now nothing.

I just want to be close to Waheguru and spiritually progress and stop caring about worldly rubbish and control my panj chor and just basically eventually go to the right place ?

Practice Naam Simran in a park or any natural spots like lakes and mountains.

If this isn’t possible make a special room in your house.

Yes I do it in a gurbani/ simran room in the house. I feel more in tune at amrit vela time than the day though I think. Unfortunately I didn’t put my alarm on last night though and caught up in the day.

I also found if I watch normal tv then I’m not saying Waheguru as much generally on non simran times. So I’m trying to stop watching much tv and only if it’s sikh related... apart from an occasional episode to a series here and there

It's quite different for everyone tbh  I can concentrate more when its dark!  I'm not sure why that is   I really cant concentrate when the room is really bright.  So I do most my simran around 9pm in my room.

Try using a mala if it helps?

I also can concentrate when I go out for a walk in the evening. Outdoors does help aswell.

Sometimes after you have watched a katha etc and your mind really connected then start doing simran.

Interesting. Could you post the method. Because I’ve read their Jeewani.

From society of saints bio.

Always do it Amritvela. One eye is closed and other is open, staring at your own nose. This helps with concentration. Within a few weeks both eyes should be closed and at this stage focus should be greatly up. Naamjaap should be done loud, only u should be able to hear it with own ears at this stage. Second stage Naamjaap happens in throat. The meditator will get tired recitation takes place in throat. Second stage comes months later NOT automatically, like "Oh am fed up! Let's go 2nd stage," so stages will occur naturally. Third stage meditation happens in heart. 4th stage in belly. 5th stage is saas-graas where meditation takes place 24 hours Jaap happens within the meditator plus rom-rom, where all hair on body meditates. Final stage is Dasam Duaar opens up.

How long for final stage? Depends on one's dedication and how far they kept from panj Chor/ Maya in their daily lives. Keep away for 6 months THEN amazing things happen. A year later revelations may take place. Dasam Duaar can even open up within 5 years. But yeah do things like masturbation THEN it'll b back to square one. Like literally.

Thanks a lot - I will try this.

    • Been so much nindya and attacking Shastarvidiya since the 2000s, however if we look at gatka now it's still mostly as poor and poorly taught as it was back then, still morris dancing moves and still behzti moves in BBC shows about sikhi and vaisakhi. If people were going to attack shastarvidiya, wouldn't have made sense to improve gatka instead and make it more effective? Additionally, the Nihang Singh presence has improved greatly now, and the cracks within the the SGPC and affiliated jatha jathebandis are showing more greatly as panth becomes more knowledgable with dasam bani and itihas day-by-day, so much gyaan which was lost within panjabi sikhs during colonial times. In the 2000s, the groups were able to talk down this bani and  gyaan by associating it with  RSS and hindus, brahminwaad etc. Not working so well now is it? However with gyaan it would be also good for us to try and preserve our martial arts and keertan vidiya as well! More and more crazy keertan videos are coming out from jatha members that are being made fun of and making sangat annoyed and upset, on tiktok and instagram reels.

Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM.   The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh   What in the world? What sikh or even a decent human would base their knowledge of their culture or religion on a movie industry, that too Bollywood?  Believe me, no sikh ever said, I must cover my head becasue an actor did so in a movie. I've been doing it all wrong, I must start covering mh head because the sikh in that movie did.  Just because every panjabi and sardaar you know, does something, also doesn't make it right..  Follow the guru. And if you have a medical condition, then exemptions can be made.  Just admit it, because of my medical condition, I am not able to follow this rehit. Why are you getting everyone else to drop to your level?
    • Wasn't Guru Arjan Dev's martyrdom on amd always commemorated on 6th June? How come it was 30th May?  Just like 6th June 84, where the likes of Terrorists like Indira Gandhi chose to attack Darbar Sahib where many many innocent Sikhs would suffer, as they went to commemorate Martyrdom of Maharaj.
    • best thing is to follow the Sikh Rehat Maryada and use common sense for gray areas. Anything outside of that's irrelevant tbh that code is what Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the 5 Pyaare agreed on when creating Amrit in 1699
