Giani Harpreet Singh, the SGPC and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) appointed Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Sri Damdama Sahib, arrived in the UK on 9 September 2021.

During Giani Harpreet Singh’s UK tour, a man unknown to most Sikhs has been spotted accompanying him. The man’s name is Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, a Patit politician from Punjab. Pictures show him accompanying Giani Harpreet Singh at a meeting at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall and a residence in Wolverhampton where Giani Harpreet Singh is visiting.

This individual is not someone unsignificant. Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, originally from Firozpur, lives in Chandigarh. He is the National Secretary of the All India Youth Congress (AIYC).  AIYC has elected him as the General Secretary of the Punjab Youth Congress.

Tibbi is someone who is linked to the anti-Sikh politician, Ravneet Bittu of the Congress Party, who very recently challenged the authority of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. Ravneet Bittu’s late grandfather, Beant Singh committed mass genocide of Sikhs during his tenure as Chief-Minister of Punjab. Ravneet Bittu celebrates the genocidal crimes of his grandfather and openly insults and condemns Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other martyrs of the Sikh Nation.

On his social media, Gurbhej Singh Tibbi has honoured and praised Rajiv Gandhi. The same Rajiv Gandhi is responsible for the anti-Sikh genocide of November 1984. He justified the government-orchestrated genocide with his infamous words, “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes:”

Gurbhej Singh Tibbi’s Facebook post, dated 20 August 2020 reads: “In the remembrance of the 76th anniversary of the country’s Former Prime Minister, ‘Bharat Ratan’ (the Jewel of India), the late Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji. The former Prime Minister of the country, Shri Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of modern India. Today, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, I pay my respects to him. Gurbhej Singh Tibbi’s Facebook post, dated 21 May 2020 reads: “Tribute to the respected late Rajiv Gandhi ji on his death anniversary, the father of revolutionary thinking in modern India. India is still dependent on the visionary thinking and direction given by you like decentralization and information technology and its benefits are being received by the people of the country.”

It is very public that Giani Harpreet Singh was appointed as Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib by Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), which currently controls the SGPC. In the past three years he has made it evident that he has masked the anti-Sikh activities of Prakash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal. Giani Harpreet Singh’s association and loyalty to Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) is unquestionable, however, the revelation of these photos creates a new controversy.

Both Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and the National Congress party played roles against the Panth. Gurbhej Singh Tibbi’s apparent closeness with Giani Harpreet Singh and his involvement in a closed Panthic meeting this week gives the impression that he has become the PA or secretary of Giani Harpreet Singh. It seems that both Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and the National Congress party are now working together on an agenda to weaken the UK Sikh community.

The current hijacking of the SGPC and Sri Akal Takhat Sahib by Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and now appearance of Congress politician, Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, suggests that Indian government officials are attempting to meddle in the affairs of the Sikh Nation. The revelations contained in this article are of great concern to the Sikh community worldwide. The Gurdwaras inviting and hosting Giani Harpreet Singh in the UK either have not paid due diligence to this matter and made an oversight, or they are supporting Indian government interference by allowing them to be party to discussions.

This is really something very concerning. Why a jathedar would be accompanying a patit on his international travels. That along thing disqualify him for representing sikh kaum. Now that patit is congress politician is beyond imagination.
