Bush has not finished in Afganistan or Iraq, and is now looking at Iran!

Forget the country with WMD - North Korea coz no oil there.

Bush says take stand on all middle east countries with no democracy. But reality is Iran is last middle east country which does not USA control its oil.

Iran has been working towards reform and has elections. It is Saudi Arabia, Jordon, and other US allies who are run without democracy!

just think about it, it all seem to start with 9/11. There are speculation that bush and the clinton administration let the attacks go on, so that they could justify the attack of afghanastan and iraq. After all, once the us got there chosen pres for afghanistan, they built an gas pipeline soon after! And know there trying to control iraqs oil. All of this so they can drive their big suv's and consume more at home. If the us people really knew what was happening, they would be suspicious.

Hi Guys,

Let Bush go to war with Iran, see what happens. Every great civilization has fallen at one point or another, the Romans were said to be invisible and look what happend to them? The same thing will happen to the states, they are messing with a sleeping tiger.

Just think about it:

U.S. Army: Recruits who joined the army to get college for free.

Muslims: Fighting against opression from a foreign invader who's sole goal is to convert their way of life.

Sounds alot like the Moghul's and Sikh's to me....so who won when it came to the Moghuls and Sikhs tongue.gif

The Muslims definitely have more fire to fight, the U.S. is getting their butts kicked in Iraq, and CNN is as funny as Chris Rock when he was live at the apollo.

LETS GO IRAN!

Did I just hear someone compare the Muslim fighters in Iraq to the Sikhs during the era of the Mughals?

Getae, do you have any knowledge or shame whatsoever?

The fighters in Iraq are Sunni Muslims who want to perpetuate their group's dominance over the Shiite Iraqi Majority. Those fighters, wait--those TERRORIST KILLERS are killing Iraqis and innocent civilians at a hundred times greater rate than they're killing Americans. Their sole purpose is to prevent an election in order to create a civil war and to establish a theocratic state.

They behead innocent aid workers, they blow up innocent Iraqi cops and election workers, and you compare them to the Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh? What's wrong with you?

Do you know who the FIRST PERSON TO VOTE IN THE AFGHAN ELECTIONS WAS?

A 19 year old female without a burka.

Did you know a female "sex-slave" who was sentenced to death played an active role in voting during the Afghan elections? She was forced to have sex with members of the Taliban regime, AND then sentenced to death for being a <admin-profanity filter activated> and violating Muslim Law BY the same people that forced her to have sex.

Let Freedom Reign.

And the Oil thing is ridiculous now...Do you know the United States only took 1% of its Oil from Iraq prior to invasion and its less than 1% now. Do you know WHY we are attempting to take control of the Iraqi Oil Fields? Because the Insurgents set the oil fields ablaze, because they know we want ot protect them. Do you know WHY we want to protect them? 99% of Iraq's economy will be run by oil trade and production. If the ins

urgents burn all the oil fields, the people in Iraq will SUFFER and GET NOTHING.

The United States is paying MORE for oil now than before. Oil prices are at record highs! I get gas everyday and the prices are insane!

Did you ever hear that Saddam Hussien smuggled away 55 BILLION DOLLARS DURING THE OIL-FOR-FOOD trade. That's 55 BILLION dollars that should have been given to Iraqi citizens and Muslim miniorities, but was smuggled so he could create a new rich house and kill off hundreds of thousands of people at his will. Did you make an outcry when he did this? No, you remained silent, yet you yell at the United States for viewing the military taking a stronghold of the Iraqi oilfields, when little do you know that Iraq's entire economy will be based of those oil fields. It's like...if we dont save the oil-fields just to show the world that we're not taking any oil away, than you will yell at us in 5 years when every Iraqi is piss-poor because their economy sucks. When we do save the oil for the future, you accuse us of stealing but forget to mention how Saddam stole billions of dollars for his own personal gain and never gave a penny to his own citizens.

We're not invading North Korea for multiple reasons. First of all, they are being more diplomatic than anything Saddam ever tried. Second, they have much more support from China, and other communist nations. Do you want to have another "4th Cold War" ? If we dare to do anything to N. Korea, they have multiple allies who will endanger the world. To compare N. Korea and Iraq is just ridiculous. Apples and Oranges.

and Now you mention how Iran has been working towards reforming elections?

You have to be kidding me.

They are still run by AYATOLLAH'S! Do some history on Iran, how it was created, which Muslim miniority group RUNS Iran, and what Ayatollahs have done in the past. Read up on Women's right and miniority rights in Iran, and then you tell me they are attempting to REFORM? Yes,

let them reform into a complete Democracy and then I will acknowledge their presence.

Stardarcy, please stop your crazy conspiracies.

Sat Sri Akal:

Pyaro...what does this topic have to do with Sikhism or Sikhs? Besides creating massive arguement that will lead to personal feelings being hurt (already some of it starting can be seen), does this topic really serve any purpose.

This debate would be better carried out at some BBC or CNN forum, but not at SikhSangat.com.

Bhul Chuk Maaf.

    • Part of the problem is the hostilities between India and Pakistan. If the border were open, Amritsar would easily become a huge trading city. Secondly, the National Highways Authority of India is constructing a new 6-lane expressway from Kashmir, through Amritsar/Jalandhar/Ludhiana to Dehli which will be part of the Ludhiana-Delhi-Kolkatta Industrial Corridor.  Maps of the New Silk Road show Kolkata as a key part of the "road". The Punjab to Kolkata expressway and rail connections will fulfill the ability to hook up to the New Silk Road.  In addition, while crossing to Pakistan via AH1 (Asian Highway 1) is difficult, India does connect to AH1 on the other side, towards the East. Finally, Punjab can trade with the world via Mundra port in Gujurat. Rail to Mundra, then sea onwards. Dubai is very close with a free port. If you send products to Iran, there are ground links onward to Europe.
    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
    • The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West. The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public. Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
