Was it just my computer, or was the website down earlier today? It wouldn't work for 7/8 hrs.

I felt so lost without the SikhSangat. :wub:

I think the problem is those hackers wont stop, so they keep slowing the server down or crashing it sometimes.

nah i dont think its hackers. i think because the forum is "open source" it can be quite vulnerable to hacker viruses.

Basically, i dont think hackers attack the website intentionally - i think its a virus that goes around attacking code of the forum. Not hard to do.

Admin Note: Actually Singho, For the last 3-4 months the W!N server has been pounded by brute force hacking attempts and DoS attacks. We have done our best to minimize its effects, but this is the reason all the sites have been running slow for awhile and why our server goes down at least once a week. Luckily, our sevadars are always on top of it to make sure the sites are up ASAP. The brute force hacking has only been successful once when keertan.net was defaced with disgusting images. We will do our best to make sure such a thing does not happen again in the best interest of the sangat.
