Good prog, sounds like a new way of doign parchar. Also good to c so many orgs supporting it and coming together

However(no offence to anyone pls).Just need to be a bit careful with the whole 'keep your hair for 40 days' and the way this is 'sold'on the day in the lectures.

It could come across that it's an achiecvment to keep kesh for 40 days and then wut happens if the same ppl then cut it! after the 40 days

Muslims and others do 'fasting, not cutting hair etc'for periods of time and the ones i have talked too think that by doing somethign for a period of time will benefit them greatly but then they go back to their old ways.

As sikhi is practical way of life, we should be saying 'international keep your kesh day forever'

I deff understand the logic that with Guru's kirpa if someone does take a small step for 40 days then anything is possible.

However Gursikhs pls be careful with saying 'keep your kesh 4o days' don't want this coming riutalistic

Apologies,i don't want to offend the oganisers as progslike this take alot fo effort to organisers

Of course you are right in some way.. however we are urging those to take a step of a MINIMUM of 40days and as it states in the post

WHAT: The Launch of the International Keep Your Hair Day - An event which will encourage you to keep your hair for a MINIMUM of 40 Days with help and support of Gursikhs from your area.

The aim is to inspire and encourage our non-Keshdhari brothers and sisters and hopefully after 40 days they will realise themselves that keeping Kesh is such a beautiful thing after all. It's the intial step that needs to be ignited - the rest is in the Hands of Guroo Saahib.

Thanks for your comments they will be implemented as much as possible on the day - a benti also... please can you organise such an event at your local Gurdwara. This isnt just a UK thing but a Worldwide thing.

ohhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhh taksali singhs going worldwide. LOL. yeh plz every1 support this event and do others like it, its about parchaar, we mainly focus on converting the already converted (LOL - doing parchaar to amrit dharis) but i think parchaar needs to be done to non kes dharisir non amrit dharis.

I think this is a great idea, however along with the 40 days kesh keeping, there should be emphasis on doing some reading and understanding of Gurbani, Naam Abhihaas, even if its minimal like moolmantar or gurmantar jaap. Most people keep kesh but have no real love for it, they lack the understanding for why it is kept, and without Naam and Gurbani they wont have a real connection to Sikhi.

Im guessing you guys have already got that planned but just mentioning it cos its not stated on the poster.
